Kuryakyn hyper charger air filter
« on: July 07, 2012, 08:53:54 PM »

Just for anyone who has installed a Kuryakyn Hypercharge air filter system. After riding my newly purchased used CVO ultra (07 with 3200 miles) practically brand new bike, I noticed that performance was not at it's peak.  From what I gathered from reading the many posts here on this site.  Well last week my bike was running at an all time low, crappy gas milaege  and bad throttle response...  I noticed that a small vacuum line had come loose...  Under further review the line had cracks all over it.  None working vacuum line...  No bueno.  Well I take it to Harley to get a replacement line and of course they don't have it and give me the party line that since it is an aftermarket part they don't have it...  They tell me to go to an automotive parts supplier and that they should be able to help.  A motorcycle shop that does not have vacuum lines?  Well, I end up going to my Ninja mech (Spec 1, San Jose, CA) and the owner not only has the line and verifies that this is the issue, he installs and does not charge me...  That is customer service at it's best.  As for HD...  They could learn a thing or two from THIER neighbor...

CVO Ultra is now running better than it has ever run.  CHECK YOUR VACUUM LINES!!!!

Welcome to Harleyland, where everything is normal and nothing is cheap (or available)!!  And welcome to this site, too.

Spec 1, huh?  I need to check them out...

Thanks!  I love my Ninja but riding my CVO Ultra has brought a new demention to the ridding experience. My girlfriend likes it to, she enjoys getting out on the open road...  I had no real idea about what I was getting myself into when I bought my bike. But I very happy with the performance and the craftsmen ship of the bike.

But as for the HD dealership in San Jose like other HD dealerships are governed by the bottom line...  I actually had a run in with a salesmen that would "help" me with my registration issue since I bought the bike out of state with low mileage.  He told me he would take my CVO and give me a reasonable trade on a stock ultra...  I think he thought I did not know what I had....  This tool actually thought he had a deal in the making... NOT.  I told him to hit the road...

I have been ridding sport bikes for the past 20 years.  I have had the bike for about a year and a 1/2 but have only been riding it for a year.  Never thought that I would enjoy it this much oor be a "Harley" guy but have enjoyed the Harley family and now the CVO family...
