Speaker issue on the 12's
« on: July 11, 2012, 03:13:40 PM »

Just wondering if I'm the only one? I haven't heard of any issues with them on here so maybe my lack of luck is still with me, and I'm the first.  All my speakers on the right side including the bag cut out ALOT. Stealer is looking at it next week, in the meantime I will continue to be annoyed.

Mine are working fine, under normal situations. I do have a loud poping noise happen when I turn the wheel all the way to the right. Dealer will be looking at it when they replace the tank in a couple weeks.

I had that issue show up shortly after I bought mine.  The wiring harness going to the rear bag was rubbing up against the rear wheel and it wore through causing the wires to short and the right speakers to cut out.  The MoCo came out with a fix by shortening the harness so that it didn't bow against the rear wheel.  That shouldn't be your issue, but have them check anyway.  My SESG3 was one of the first production batches.

Hopefully this is unrelated but the exact same thing happened on my 2011 (no bag speakers) just before my entire head unit went out.  Entire side cut in and out for a few days and then both sides stopped working permanently.  New radio fixed it all.  Good luck!

Sound no issue on my ride at present.
I am however getting a warranty replacement on the right lid as the right rear speaker is coming away from the lid.
AC/DC sounds awesome. Just got to turn iot up a bit more though since fitting the Monster Rounds. Its all good  :jalapeno:

No problem with the sound on mine or the spouse's Black & Slate.   Grills are fading out though.   Same happened on my 2011.  Dealer has ordered replacements.  Agreed.   Great sound system.

Mine so far is working pretty good.   I did remove my lowers tho because of heat.  I think no matter what, you lose some of the sound at 70 plus mph no matter what you do.   I guess I'll leave it as it is.  The 1ohm speakers and having to change out amps slowed down my intentions of replacing any components.  :nixweiss:

Not sure where I read about it....but, someone is developing a 1 ohm speaker upgrade.....if I find the article I'll post the link here.

An upgrade for 1 ohm sounds interesting. If you find a link please post it.

I had a similar problem with speakers cutting in and out. The only difference was that it was both of the saddlebag speakers. Turned out that the amp was bad.

My rear speakers in the lid are cutting out.
