Racetech Gold Valves or Ricor Intiminators
« on: July 14, 2012, 08:06:25 AM »

What is the better part for the Dyna 49mm front ends, the Racetech Gold Valves or Ricor Intiminators??? Alot of people like the Racetech. I have Prorgressive fork springs and the Gold Valves in my 39mm FXR4 CVO. I am not impressed. Maybe the valve was not adjusted to properly. While on this topic how about the Racetech 49mm fork springs vs the Heavy Duty Progressive 49mm springs. Progressive said it may be next year before they get their cartidge units for the 49mm front ends but I dont want to wait that long. I am peicing together a 49mm Wide Glide front end for my FXR4.
Thanks,

Originally I was going to get the Racetech Valves, but they had a group buy on the Ricor's and I went with them, really like them.

Can't comment on the Racetech, but I am very satisfied with the Ricors.  MAJOR improvement over stock.  Added the Progressive 440's, Metzler 880's, and the TruTrack, and the beast rides on rails now.  Very happy with the results.

If you were not impressed with Racetech on the bike before why would you
want to give them more of your money to not be impressed on this bike?

I'm gonna take a shot as to possibly what you don't care for the racetec and could it possible be due to the progressive springs installed along with the gold valves? Yes if the vales are not set right it can change the OVAL feel as well...paul

I was told by Ricor Tech that the valves were designed with the stock springs. He said that I could use other springs, but couldn't guaranty the outcome.

I went with the race tech gold valves and springs on my 09 FXDF-SE and couldn't be happier.  I haven't tried the others but have cahanged out all my bikes to the race tech set up over the years and they all work great. (04 FLHTC-SE, 06 FLHTCU-SE, 06 FLSTF-SE).  Good Luck.
