Who Has Changed Their Tank Emblem?
« on: July 16, 2012, 10:56:14 PM »

Never been a fan of the big red badge they put on the tank of my 2011 FLTRUSE. :( Thinking about something different...like the one on the 2012 SESG. They are a bit pricey...but available.

Anybody out there made the change? Post some pics too.

Find a SESG owner to get a set for you. The badges are actually much cheaper to buy from the dealer then they are selling for on ebay.

Been thinking the same thing Jerry. These plain jane badges look stupid on these bikes.

Found them on ebay. $190. Wonder what the dealer wants for a set.

Ahhhh, you've been checking out the same stuff as I. Yeah, got no idea what the dealer cost is on the 2012 SESG emblem. I think it would look great on our bikes. I really liked the one on my 2009 SEUC too. Anything but that big red badge. :(

I get the feeling H-D eased the sales restriction on these items in 2012. Seems if you want an earlier CVO emblem (2011 and older) you need a VIN number...you have to return the one you are replacing...you need a note from your mother...you have to surrender your first born male child...etc.  :o

The part numbers are 14100222 (right) and 14100223 (left).  Full retail is $82.79 each, 20% off would make them $66.10.   :2vrolijk_21:

Or for cleaning purposes you could remove the emblem and paint one on under the clear coat  :nixweiss:  worked for me, I hated the press on emblems.

Marty has about the best example of a tank emblem change that I've seen. :2vrolijk_21:

THe amazing thing about Marty's painted emblem is when you see it in person, the first thing you do is touch it as it looks to be 3D. Great job by the painter  :2vrolijk_21:
