D&D 2:1
« on: July 17, 2012, 05:28:54 PM »

Installed D&D 2:1 Fat Cat with Ghost pipe on 2011 CVO SG with a Thundermax fuel management system. Very hot on right leg. I think the lowers might be the problem, but since I've always ran Rinehart's 2:2 in the past I have no benchmark to measure by. Anybody else have this problem with 2:1's?

I have had a few sets of D & D.  Never had ghost pipe but that should not matter. Heat yes, but not to the point of troubling. 110" is maybe hotter anyway? Maybe more than 2:2 but worth the trade off.

I have the same D&D with a Thundermax on my 08 SERK and my right leg gets pretty hot also.
It's not so bad that I cant live with it, but when the bike isn't moving it can get a little uncomfortable.

Are you running the quiet baffle or the performance baffle?  I have the performance and it is REALLY loud. I am wondering how big of a sound difference there is between the two.

I am running the SEPRT with the DD and ghost pipe (performance baffle) on my 2012 FLHXSE3 and yes there is some heat on the right side but  I live with it.  It does not seem to be out of the norm, but I will say that my 2011 FLHX with a thunderheader 2:1 with a thundermax ran a lot cooler.

I have a D&D Fatcat 2:1 with ghost on a 2010 SEUC. I have both the wrapped performance baffle and a separate "can" with an unwrapped performance baffle for running louder (alot louder). I am using Powervision as my tuner. My bike used to be very hot on my right leg before getting it tuned. It now runs cool. I just had a 2100 mile trip and never once felt heat on my right leg.

It's worth noting I have had headwork, larger throttlebody and larger injectors which could also be a factor in the difference in heat I feel versus others.

I can't speak to the Thundermax but a proper tune should result in a much cooler running bike.

Had the performance baffle and traded for the quiet. Performance was too loud for me. Quiet baffle is not all that quiet and is louder than Rineharts and sound is much deeper.

While were on the D&D topic, Mine is up against the tranny cover. Is anyone else having this issue? I'm actually starting to get a rust spot on the cover from it rubbing.

As to the OP, The only time the heat bothers me on mine is when it's over 90* out.
