IPod Recording

I pretty nrew to the IPod thing. Some of my music from ITunes is very low and others are nice and loud. What am I doing wrong?

Was some of the music copied from cd or other ways? If so will not sound the same as what was downloaded strait from iTunes. That's what I have experienced anyways.

That is correct, the volume levels on music imported from CD's can vary greatly.  I have no idea why.

I do have some cd music on there but the difference is between music from ITunes downloaded on the same day. The "low volume" music is really not useable. I have to crank the volume wide open to hear it while underway.
