« on: August 13, 2006, 06:50:58 PM »

Does anyone know what SERT maps are currently avail for the 07 110 engine ? Also, if I purchase a SERT can it ever be used on another bike ? Thanks

Once the SERT is installed it marries itself to that ECM, and can only be used on that ECM (scooter) again. Below I've pictured what you will get when you purchase the SERT. The part labeled "interface" is the most important part and is what marries the program to the ECM. W/O this item you will not be able to make upgrades/adjustments to your ECM (very important to take good care of this, think of it as the $450 piece or whatever the SERT is costing these days). Whenever you want to have your bike dyno tuned or want to make changes to ECM you will need the interface to do it. Most dealers/dyno tuners will have the program and cables available to hook to interface and you will only need to bring the interface to make changes.

copout,

A SERT is "married" to your ECM the first time you connect, and cannot be used on another ECM thereafter.

That is pretty much what I thought. I am still trying to be patient and wait for Zippers to get their new Thundermax tested and distributed for 07 bikes but it is hard after a day of riding and listening to hundreds of modified exhausts pass me. I know I can use a 2006 Dyna model Powercommander with the O2 bypass but I was hoping to try the Zippers product before going with another Powercommander and spending almost $500.00 on a custom tune.

I'm not a computer nerd but I was wondering about that interface.  Must be a PROM (programable read only memory) or something similar.  Can be written to since it gets the data from our bike's ecm and stores it for comparison whenever we hook it up.

Seems to me that there should be some way to wipe the memory in the interface clean so if hooked up to another bike it would marry by having the program write that bike's ecm / vin data to it.

Ought to be a way.

It is in fact an eprom that can be reset/cleared and used with another ECM unit, however that ECM unit has a memory as well and will look for a specific eprom/interface id number so it would need to be cleared as well. A special software application is needed to clear the ECM. workin' on gettin' that software. Oh yeah this is not for amatuers to try, if you screw the ECM up you won't be ridin' and harley is not sellin' these over the counter for the experimental industry to hack on.

Ok. I found that HD is offering a race download for the SERT for the 2007 CVO 110". It is listed below.  In addition, there are several other maps avail for 2007 models. I attached the PDF for the latest software avail if anyone is interested.

Calibration # 84: 2007 Touring Exhaust with O2 Sensors
Configuration: 1800 SE A/C & Race Exhaust
