Did this on my ride...bought the new Harley Boom audio antenna for the inside of the fairing and seems to work great for me...cleans up the rear end.

I've tried several Tune Trapper hidden antenna's and multiple shorty style antenna's, they all sucked! I don't exactly live on top of a radio station (One that I listen to) so reception was horrible. I settled on a Ford Focus antenna from an older model, while not clean or hidden it worked for me. I would imagine the hidden antennas work well in the cities. I have 0 experience with the new HD antenna.

Thanks puzzled.. I live in North Jersey and just a few miles from NYC, but dont want to lose reception. Harley says the "new" HD Boom is better than the shorty and as good is the wip it?

Hoping I'm not making a mistake...

I look forward to the review also...best I have used is the Tune Trapper and that isn't anywhere near as good as the stock shorty. But I listen to XM and IPOD mostly so not a bid deal...but if the HD boom antenna works I will switch to it the next time I am in the fairing.

I put the new HD Boom Hidden antenna on the bike and its works well. For me, the stock shorty worked better. The hidden rarely pulls in the information now typically displayed on the radio such as the song/artist/ the stock antenna did a better job. I tried an aftermarket shorty and it was just okay. I ride with my razor pak on the bike once in a while so the hidden antenna is the winner. I listen to the IPOD, CD player or songs I have downloaded on the GPS 99% of the time so it's not a big issue to me.

Just my 2 cents.....

So in our end of the world, the stock one worked better......I guess the search continues.
