The "BIG VALLEY" from the tv-serie, with Barbara Stanwyck, Lee Majors and others?

Well that was the reference but it's actually just a beautiful scenic overlook on US160 between Pagosa Springs, CO and Wolf Creek, CO.

 Great pics

Pagosa Springs to South fork on Hwy 160 is one of my very favorite roads in this great country of ours  :2vrolijk_21:

I rolled into the Comfort Inn in Carbondale, CO very late last night. Let me tell you, going over Independence Pass after dusk is no great pleasure. As I dropped down into Aspen, CO I was almost run over by two chubby boys riding Segways. Guess walking or biking the streets of Aspen was too strenuous for these pre-teens. Anyway, I digress .. this was the view out the back of the Comfort Inn. Was pleased to start out the morning with this beautiful site.

After reading some of the details regarding the WC GTG Scavenger Hunt, I scouted Glenwood Springs for a "sidekick". I noticed this curio shop and took a peek inside.

I left the shop a bit lighter in the wallet but with my new sidekick, "Gabe". A little modification to Gabe's posterior and he now has a permanent stick up his ....ahhhs..

Looking for guidance on which way I should roll today I spied the following... apparently my choice were only 1 of 2, come or go. I decided to go look at parts of Colorado I'd not seen before and map the long route from Glenwood Springs to Steamboat Springs.

After getting out of Glenwood Springs, heading east on I-70, I decided to pull off to grab a bite and found the newly reopened Yacht Club Grill.

The food and service was out on the patio but I found this interesting decoration  on the wall of the restaurant when I went to use the bathroom.

Gabe found himself some biker friends who stopped for some food and refreshement.

Apparently parking on the side of an interstate highway is an issue in Colorado.

SCAVENGER ALERT! - Gabe pops his scavenger cherry by spotting the elevation of Bertham Pass at over 11000 feet above sea level.

The long way to Steamboat Springs is a nice 120 mile alpine cruise along Highway 40. The first section has some switchbacks to climb but relatively quickly the ride turns into primarily gentle rollers. So if you like an easy cruise with some interesting scenery, you might consider this road less cruised.

Those are houses up there in the pines. I bet they have a nice view.

This is a very often viewed scene in Colorado. First came the river, then most likely the train and finally the road.

SCAVENGER ALERT! - Gabe found a HOG!

Found these two old motorcycles parked at a gas station in Steamboat Springs. I don't know much about old bikes. I talked to the clerk in the gas station and he says that the first one is an "Enfield" from Britain and the second one is a "Villager" from France. He wasn't too positive on the "Villager" brand. Anyone recognize these bikes and give us the real scope?
