reversing my cvo
« on: July 28, 2012, 04:48:47 PM »

I recently saw a HD trike at road stop I pulled into (it was very nice by the way :2vrolijk_21:). But what struck me was it being parked front wheel into the curb between two cars & there was a crown to the parking lot. I parked went in for resonce I won't manichean. Whilsed I was in side I was thinking about it some times I do that  ;D  ;D. There must be a reverse on that trike shore thing I came out just in time to see it reverse out & pull away. Again got to thinking "ouch". Now my thing is I have a cvo Ultra & I've got a bum right  knee I have a hard time backing up. Can a reverse be added to my trans if so can one be fitted your self :confused5: & is it a costly undertaking :confused5:

Found this one - Reverse Gear for Harley Davidson Motorcycles on a Google search. Now for how easy it is to add/replace... have no idea. :nixweiss:

Here's another from Champion Trike/Sidecar company:  http://www.championsidecars.com/reverse_gears.asp

It's expensive, but very easy to install and use.

the baker is by FAR the best - the rest drive reverse off the actual nuts that thread on the shafts

but they all work if you are gentle

I hear ya, spyder and X2!

Don't have a reverse as of yet but read all the threads and as of now, when my old knees finally give out, looks like the Baker is the way to go.

OK, so what kind of back up lamps are you going to install?  Backing into something with a scooter will be real hard to explain.

                 Well since you asked,
I've got some lights wired up here, that should solve the issue you mentioned,
                  What do think,? "yes-no-maybe".  :nixweiss:
