Helmet comms that work with hearing aids
« on: July 29, 2012, 05:06:18 PM »

My father in law is almost 80 and is still riding strong with the Blue Knights (with the Patriot Guard) not to mention with us almost every weekend but is a Korean Vet and can barely hear even with his hearing aids. All his buddies that he rides with use Cb's to communicate and he feels "left out" because he has not been able to find a system that will work with Hearing aids. I thought I remembered a few months ago seeing a thread about a fairly new product out that they had said worked amazing with hearing aids? I have looked around trying to find it with no luck. I would appreciate any help out there...

There are several Bluetooth Enabled hearing aids ($$$$$) out now to connect with your TV and Smartphones, but I have not seen a Bluetooth connection for CB radios.  I have to take my aids off to ride, as they can't get wet, but the volume of my speakers in my full face helmet is loud enough for me to hear.  Hope he finds a system that lets him hear.

You can check for streamers avialable with your audiologist which would connect your hearing aids to your mobile phone using bluetooth. They are really fantastic to use.

Take a look at senabluetooth dot com.  I use a portable cb radio hook it up to sena's hub and it streams to the helmet, a full face helps.  They also have connections to a built in bike CB.

Good luck
