Visit to Revolution Performance today
« on: July 30, 2012, 10:37:45 PM »

I had a problem with my RP EMS with an occassional loading up coughing at stop lights particularly when riding in town, stop light to stop light.

Talked to Andrew at R.P. early when they opened this a.m. and explained my issue.  After our discussion I decided it would be a great ride today and instead of sending my ECM for them to work on I just rode it up to him.
The problem seems to be fixed and I got the full tour while I was there.
Here are some pictures.
Impressive place, and phenomenal customer service.

Do you like the performance of the EMS system?

Yes I like it!  It is simple and it works.
I have tried the SE Race tuner, Thundermax and now the RP EMS.
I liked my Tmax but was reading the rave revues of the EMS and wanted to try it.
I think my only problem with the EMS was solved today.
If it is then it is definitely my final tuner.  It is just easier then the TMax and particularly prefer it over the Tmax in the ignition/timing area.
With the EMS I have never been able to make the bike ping/knock.
With the Tmax I chased the timing.  I got tired of plugging in a computer after every other ride.  It was fun for a while but I just want to ride.

It's a shame that RP wasn't able to or chose not to pursue cracking the code on the 2011 and up bikes so they could keep this device current.  My impression also was that it was the best tuning product out there for someone who wanted a good tune and just didn't care about all the hassle attendant to be able to beat his chest and claim "I did it myself, uggg."  No dyno time, no follow on costs, no data collection runs, no software to learn, just bolt it on and go.

Would like to hear all about that 113 kit.
Did you install it yourself?
Any noticeable difference in operating temps with the nickel-sil bores?

What did they do, I have the same issues, plus a couple others.
I really only had the one issue of an occasional stumble after sitting at a red light and trying to takeoff.
I can't say for sure, I guess they just put a new program in my ECM.  That is the only part they touched.
All I can say for sure is my bike has never ran better.  I just clicked 200 miles since they worked on it .... and it is perfect.
I knew for sure it was within the EMS and not an intake or exhaust leak because I didn't have the same problem with the Thundermax I took off.
The Thundermax was just a PIA to try and get the timing set so it wouldn't ping.
Also I am back to getting right at 40mpg.
Call Andrew, he takes pride in getting it right.
