Why would it be of any concern what the riders blood level was.........he did absolutely nothing wrong. So if he had a beer, does he deserve to die??

No need to sound so defensive.  From the report:  "The wreck remains under investigation and alcohol tests are pending on both Riera and Cuccurullo, troopers said."  Sounds like SOP to me, esp. in a death case.  If you presume that the rider did absolutely nothing wrong (even though that may be correct), then you can't learn from this and improve your chances.  JMHO. 

No one deserves to die though we all will.   :nervous:  A beer can affect your reaction time, however and just might be the difference between life and death.  The report also did not state the rider's speed which also might have made a difference.  This could have been any of us.  Be safe out there!

Just plain sucks to read this.  We get on these things knowing this could be any one of us.  Really sad when you hear.  People in cars need to pay attention to motorcycles.  Plain and simple.  But they don't.  >:(

Both of these accidents happened the same way my accident a yr. ago did....car stops and pulls out into your path at last minute and you have no way to avoid slamming into it.  Who knows why drivers don't see on-coming cycles...lots of reasons, but it seems to be happening more....I guess as more cars & bikes attempt to share the road.  Kind of like 'in-coming rounds', you never know when one is going to hit you.  Kind of ups the ante in our attempt to enjoy this passion we all share.   :nervous:  spyder
