Nice rig!
« on: August 13, 2012, 03:17:58 PM »

Saw this in Keystone last week. Older couple. He put some serious thought and $'s into this rig! Hadn't noticed the dual headlights in the sidecar until I edited this photo. Lots of detail in this set up. Spoke with the owner very briefly. Asked him what the vertical chrome piece was on the front of his Road Glide. He looked at me like I was an idiot and said "it's a V Rod." That's when I knew I had to cross the street to get a closer look and a few photos.

Note the speakers, gauges and switches. This is quite a cockpit! Also note the handicapped sticker. Looks like they made themselves a rig that will take them well into their senior years.

Notice the fuel line running between the side car and the scooter. One of the knocks on the V Rod is the small gas tank. This guy has solved that problem. There is a fuel cell behind the passenger seat with a filler cap on the top rear of the side car. Very slick!

I'd have to say this is one of the nicest jobs I have ever seen done on a touring rig. Great paint match. Love the way he turned the V Rod into the captains chair and the side car into the passenger compartment and support vehicle combined. Just an excellent job! Would have loved to have spoken with the owner a while longer but by the time I had my photos taken, he and his wife disappeared into the crowds.

The only thing I could see that I would change would be to put on hard bags and a king tourpak painted to match the rest of the bike.

I hope he fitted the larger aftermarket fuel tank, he wont get many MPG pulling that rig around.

I agree nice job though, had to look a second time after u mentioned it was a V-Rod not a Road Glide

And some folks say a V-Rod motor doesn't have enough grunt for a bagger. :nixweiss: ::)

Ice, you didn't notice my comment about the fuel cell in the side car. He did a nice job addressing the V Rod small tank issue.

Holy Hell! I met a guy a few months back who said he was getting a Vrod "for touring." I wonder if he has something like this in mind?

Hi Duane hope you and the family are well. Actually I'd like a side car for the SEEG so I could take Bongo cruising but don't have it in the budget or plans for now. As for Gettinold..... The day I can't swing a leg over will be the day I use a step ladder to mount up. When that can't be done I'd go Trike!  :huepfenlol2:
