passenger footpeg improvement
« on: August 14, 2012, 09:57:31 PM »

I'm interested in a set of passenger footpegs for my new bike 2011 FLHTCUSE6.    Attached are some pictures of the footpegs and mounts that are currently on the bike.    The picture with the scale measures 3.250" between the mounts...

I had a set of kuryakyn that my wife really liked on my 2002 FLHT.  They supplied a adjustable peg that rotated up above the stock passanger floorboards.  That bike had the standard mounts.    Not sure what is available that will fit my new bike with the new type mounts that are on the CVO models, 2011.

I was looking at the kuryakyn-4382 and thought they might fit the new mounts on my 2011 ??

any ideas

:2vrolijk_21:  Hi, I have the 2011 RG CVO Ultra. and Yes the passenger pegs are/were crap.
They dig into back of your legs when standing and a far too farward for the passenger, and there is insuffiecnt adjustment to fix it.

But I fixed this problem by swapping the peg brackets from left to right.
This enabled the boards to sit further back and sit higher. er indoors is a lot happier now!!!
Cost me zilch too.

Give it a try before you go off spending that hard earned cash.  :bananarock:

I wanted a pair of those for my sg3 and was really disappointed with them when I first put them on.  Way too far forward and they would be in my way too..  I saw on here that they were reversible (brackets lef to right).  I did that and it made a world of difference. Love em now and very comfortable. I took the stock pegs and made them highway pegs for me.  :)

My wife gripes about the pegs on my CVO. After seeing what the Rumble floorboards cost, I told her no one makes anything yet and live with it. Works for me...

:orange: Just move the pegs, you will need to keep the boards on same side to maintain match with the front boards.

By the way, my MOCO said it couldn't be done........I had to show them how to do it!

Did you or can you post a picture? My friend has the RG and his wife complains.
Do you have to grind the knob that sticks out off too?

NO, you don't grind ANYTHING ! You just unbolt the dog bone from the running board and then the dog bone from mounting bracket. Move the dog bone to the other side and mount it to the bracket with the dog bone rotating to the rear instead of to the front then mount the running board to the dog bone on the same side it unbolted from.

I'm thinking of getting chrome passenger floor board mounts and mounting the new passenger floor boards to them. That would move them center over the mount like other Ultras have them.

You can easily test whether it will work for you without removing the actual floorboards from the adjustable mounts...just unbolt the left assembly from the frame an put in on the right side, and do the same with the right assembly.  If the positioning works out for your BSR and you, then change the floorboards themselves back to the appropriate side so that the shapes of front boards and rear boards match.
