Installing new rear floorboards
« on: August 15, 2012, 11:16:38 AM »

Anyone have an issue with the lowest mounting holes on a 2012 SESG not having the threads tapped? And any easy way to get the rubber plug from the top mounting hole? >:(

I installed floorboards on mine, and did not have any problems.

Di you use the lowest mounting hole. If you get a chance can you take a picture so I can see what holes you used?

little plastic black plugs can be popped out using a very small eyeglass screw driver or pry tool...the small hole from what I seen on mine was a smaller diameter screw...I did install using the 2nd from bottom and top screw holes...on the newer mounts...install the lower bolts then slide the mount down and install the top bolt...should be good to go...

The Lowest mounting hole WILL NOT be tapped, because there's no way to get the bolt in that hole anyway.  There is a peg on the back of the footboard mount that sits in the hole below the one you're threading the bolt into.  if you tried to put the bolt in the very bottom hole, you'd have the peg hitting the frame and it would make the footboard mount sit cockeyed.
