Help me pick
« on: August 16, 2012, 10:19:33 PM »

I'm in the market for a new helmet. I have Ben using a 3/4 helmet for trips in states that require use of helmets and the 3/4 is just not working well for me. So I'm wanting to get a full face flip up with the shaded flip down lens and Bluetooth. What helmet do you use and what would you recommend? Thanks. Also looking for something light weight if possible.

Schuberth is very hard to beat. You should try one. First time I put one on in the store I was sold!

Try "Shark Evoline Series 3". IMO the best helmet.

Ride safe and have fun.

I agree with the Nolan - picked up a pair of N-104's with the B4 comm system for each just before leaving for Sturgis - worked great the entire trip.  Excellent airflow and the comm system worked great between my wife's bike and mine.  Very comfortable helmet with a very wide field of view (I like it much better than the N-103).

I wear the Nolan too, but I have friends that have tried them and can not get one to fit.  The old oblong vs. round head argument.

It sounds simple, but make certain to get one that you can wear comfortably.

Oblong heads fit into the Arai Profile...thats what I had to do after trying about a brazillion different types of helmets...Standard full face, no flip up jaw piece or and other stuff, just comfy and well ventilated.

Good luck.

I have three Arai helmets complete with J&M integrated head sets for sale. All of the helmets are black, One is a 3/4 helmet in a small  the second is a full face in a small while the last is a full face in a X-large. The full face have clear visors.  All are outstanding helmets and only for sale due to restricted riding due to my health conditions. all three are in XLNT condition. The Price for the helmets is $150.00 plus shipping. If there is any interest let me know

Revzilla has good prices and offers a lot of knowledge on their videos. http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle-helmets

We went to our local Honda store (think outside of the box) that carried most any helmet on the market. Spent a few hours in there trying them on and walking around. Decided on the Nolan's  :2vrolijk_21: The Honda store matched Revzilla's prices  :2vrolijk_21: Do your homework first.  :)

J & N will sell the Nolan (and others) with a headset installed for less than I could buy the pieces seperately.

Cool I would of never of thought about going to the Honda or any other manufactures store. Thanks I know Harley only has a few helmets and the few they have I don't like and wasn't really wanting to order something I haven't looked at and tried on.

The problem Im looking to get rid of is the weight and buffering that disorientates you when ridding.
