2013 Ultra What they should have done
« on: August 22, 2012, 02:04:30 PM »

Since the Ultra is not getting any love from mother Harley other than a new paint scheme.

Here is my wish list of what they should have done.

1. bags and fenders from all the other touring CVO's for the longer lower look.
2. Lower's with speakers.

He11 I guess I can make this easier.  I want a SESG without the lowered suspension, add a tour pak, with heated seat/grips, and electric locking bags and the GPS.
I would bet I am not alone on this wish list.
And I forgot the drivers back rest is a must.

And anytime they get around to it I will take that with water cooling.

Tour pack Hinges  :zroflmao:

It was the first thing i looked at.

 Chrome screws would be nice.

IMO : If Harley sells these cosmetic parts at the dealer, why wouldn't they dress up there signature "Ultra" Bike.

Think about it.  If they were to put ALL the good stuff on the bike at the factory, they couldn't sell you those $5 parts for $60 to $100 at the dealership.  I'm surprised they put as much on them as they do now, but of course for $38k they do have to at least make it look like you're getting something for all that coin.  It's a very fine line they have to walk, seeking that sweet spot where they can convince people they are getting their money's worth without giving away all those extra profits after the original sale.  Maximizing profits both before and after the sale is a tough job; cut the brain trust at Harley some slack.

....aaaaand if you look closely, they're actually giving less for more $$$.  More and more little details are being left stock, such as the plain starter, when they used to be chrome.  Guess they don't think anyone would notice.  :nixweiss:

I don't remember any chrome starters as standard equipment.

05 SEEG's came with a black starter, not chrome.  Replaced with chrome under warranty when the original one crapped out.

I bought mine.  Just glad to hear I'm not the only one that didn't get one stock. ;D
