New to the CVO Group from San Diego Area
« on: August 22, 2012, 10:44:42 PM »

Just bought a CVO but won't get my hands on it for a couple weeks. Trying to find out a little about it ahead of time, primarily what differentiates it from a regular FLHX. It's a 2011 FLHXSE2 Autumn Haze/Antique Gunstock with 1900 miles.

The original owner put V&H true-dual headers/slip-ons on it, but I don't have a clue what he did for fuel management, and I bought it on eBay from a car dealer, so I'm not dealing with anyone that knows much about Harley's. Do these come with a Race Tuner from the factory? Probably wishful thinking on my part, but I thought with the 110 motor, just maybe...

The HD site says it has special adjustable hydralic shocks as if they are different from standard FLHX. Are these the same air shocks they all come with?

As it comes with the backrest, does it come with a 2 or a 4 point bracket? Seems kind of silly to put a 2 point on, as I think a 4 point would be needed if you are going to add a rack (unless the rack attaches to the sissy bar).

Anyhow, I look forward to your insight and expertise/experience as I venture into CVO territory, and thank all in advance!

Bob/aaazdaddy (BTW: my 3 kids names all begin with A, hence the handle...)

Welcome from Louisiana. Just check out the street glide section, if that doesn't give you all the info you need feel free to ask. The street gliders are some of the most knowledgable guys on the site...

Hi  Bob Welcome to the site from Fresno CA and No they dont come with tuner ..factory ecm will cope with minor changes to intake/exhaust but to add headers and mufflers and probably  hi perf air filter will need a tuner if the previous owner did it right it should have one ,,not sure where they hide the screamin eagle or power commander modules but I installed a Power Vision from Dynojet and it has an LCD screen that sits on my dash.

Welcome!  It's always good to add another brother to the SoCal family.  If it's just slip ons, you wouldn't absolutely need a fuel controller, but it would help.  Also, the SGs onlt come with a two point docking set up, unless changed by the original owner.

Those are beautiful bikes.  You done good!  Hope to see you in person on one of our rides.
