Saddlebags....2011 CVO
« on: August 25, 2012, 07:35:02 PM »

I took off my saddlebags the week I bought my 2011 CVO. Packed them up and put them in my garage. Since I have another bike (a Bagger) I probably will never use them. If anyone has a use for these bags, let me know.

Call me crazy ,but If you sell or trade the bike I would think the purchaser would want the bags as they are part of the CVO package.  I have a both touring bike and a 2012 Softail CVO, and would never consider getting rid of the bags, its part of the CVO package and would kill resale.  Pack them away, you will be glad you did someday.

I really think that is nobody's call except sjr's.  If he (or she) wants to sell them, so be it.  And with the deluge of bags that are falling off, who wouldn't want to have an opportunity for a replacement?

Actually.....you guys are both right in your opinion. My plan is to replace my black bags with the brown distressed leather bags. They come standard on the bikes with the flat paint, but not in the maple/roman gold paint. So, I sold the black bags to a fellow Conv. owner who lost one of his, and I'm going to have the only one in my paint color with brown bags and seats.

Will post pictures when I get them put on.

SJR,

Looking forward to seeing your pics.  I have the same color bike (maple/roman gold) and wondered what it would look like with the distressed leather bags.

you just may invent something that the MoCo will wind up going with.  Actually, I had a real problem letting the alligator trim bags/seats go with my 2011 as my wife if from Louisianna and that sort of "fit" when we got the bike.  Going to the '12 meant giving up the alligator trim in favor of the lizard and it just isn't as good in my opinion.  So, if there is anybody out there that has alligator bags/seats that are in as nice a shape as my lizard set, I would be prepared to do an even swap if you like.  Maybe the value may no be there, but I might imagine nobody would care too much as long as it was a complete set.  We customize our bikes after we get them anyway, right??  Where exactly is the written line that you can't do this or you can't do that???   Actually thought about asking the dealer to do a swap with my right when he delivered the '12 but didn't.  should have kept the mp3 player, though, because he didn't appreciate any of that anyway.  So, yes, let's see the pics once you get the distressed leather.  Really do like this forum and the participants' comments, opinions, etc.  Pork.

Well Pork...I like to be different. Brown Leather jacket, brown gloves, (need to get brown chaps)
When I park among 100 other bikes, I never have trouble finding mine, it jumps right out at me.

However....when I ride my BLACK Ultra, it's black all the way!

Sorry, been away for a couple days filling a big pit in my back yard with mannnnnnnnny wheelbarrows full of dirt. 14 yards to be exact.  So, haven't been watching this for a couple days.  yes, i sure can understand being unique and unusual.  Most things I have seem that way to some people.  When you get the bike done, please post some pics for us all to see.  What is special about this forum is that we are all unique and unusual in our designs of our bikes.  That is what makes them special to us.  .  Anxious to see what it looks like.  I just bought the LED lights for the back as well as the front and am ready to plug and play as soon as I get the pit filled in or we have a rainy day....don't care which.  I win both ways.  ha!  Pork.

Finally got a chance to put the brown bags on the bike and take a few pics.

The last picture shows the lower mount secured by plastic wire-tie. Belts and suspenders for me now. Not looking to lose these bags on a bumpy road.
