When we lived in Sherwood Park...our area was architecturally controlled and  had a rule that you had to have a 'front porch'.....on ours was a small table and a couple chairs....when they came a callin', I'd say "just have a seat and give me a few minutes"......they'd sit there for almost an hour before leaving (3 different pairs).......then they just bypassed my place. It turned into a common term to call the table and chairs out front "Joho chairs"

Now I live in a cul-de-sac with tall houses......I saw them ringing a door bell and waiting on a house that I knew the people were gone in.....From a upstairs window in my best booming voice said "They're not home!"........did that 2 more times.....then: "They don't want you to bother them" and finally...."I'm not home".
My one neighbor saw the whole thing and almost pizzed himself.....they have not been back in over three years!

When they (JW) knocked at my door in Wisconsin I was somewhat unfamiliar with it (they are not that much around in Germany, I guess) so I asked them in. Two guys in their early twenties, nicely groomed and dressed, very polite.
Sitting in the living room there was that odd silence so I asked what is it about that "let us talk about Jesus knocking at strangers homes" thing.
The honest answer was, "we have no clue how to go from here because we never got that far" ;D
