Hey Robin!  Welcome to CVO Harley from San Jose, CA! 

Check out the vendor pages and look up Brukus http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=60689.0  They have solutions for the saddlebag issues and securing other valuable parts on your bike, like the seat, etc...

Some of these problems can be solved with at trip to the local hardware store, but that would take some time and effort to find the right solution.  Brukus has put together great kits that don't cost a fortune and will go a long ways toward helping you protect your stuff.

Thanks for all the welcomes from across the world.
   The saddlebag did survive with only some 'road rash'.  The dealer, after the fact, showed me where some bolt will protude if locked properly.  I hope the dealer is correct as I would hate to get a new bag and have it happen again !  
    Someone said I needed pictures but I'm still learning how to navigate the site.  I tried uploading a picture but didn't see it uploaded.   Go figure....
     The other issues in the first 2000 miles is the digital readout for miles left on the gas tank often says '42'.  I'm in the habit from previous bikes to keep track of my mileage so I know when I need gas.  I just thought the 42 was curious. And the NO FOB message when the fob is clearly in my pocket.
      Did I mention I really love this bike !!

The 42 is the amount of miles left until you run completely out of gas, it will clock down to 0 as you keep going with out filling up. The no fob probably caused by a weak battery in the fob, pop it open and replace.
