Help - need quick touring pack hint...
« on: August 19, 2006, 02:34:30 PM »

Sorry to bother you guys but I took my rear license plate frame off of the bike (disconnected it from the tour pack from the top two vertical bolts that run through the tour pack - frame support - amplifier) and then removed the two horitzontal bolts that attach it to the frame.

I am putting the bike back together and need help...

In my FLHTCUSE HD manual it says the license plate holder goes below the amplifier in the sandwiching of these components (tour pack, top frame support, frame spacer, amplifier, license plate frame) yet I can only get the license plate frame on if I stick it between the frame spacer and the amplifier with the amplifier on the bottom and then the nylon lock nut going on last...

Can someone check their bike or take a quick picture to let me know where the license plate bracket actually goes?

All this for a damn maryland license plate frame...

OK - first tired it the "HD" way...  No way that tour-pack will go back on and mount that way...

Checked the forum - found pictures of a tour-pack relocation with the amp and license plate bracket installed as what I thought it should be...

Everything is back toghether and what a great looking license plate frame I now have... :)

There are risks and costs to a program of action.  But they are far less than the long range risks and costs of comfortable inaction.

OK - Pictures tonight although for a Maryland (un-standardsized) license plate holder what pain in the butt - but it looks sooo much better than just two bolts holding the top of the plate on...

Wow - that really was a lot of work for some simple frame around a license plate...  Looks better in person  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] [smiley=drink.gif]

Everyone's taste's are different of course.  But of anything I've seen in the current market those are my favorites in the "Best Looking Muffler" category.  Have liked them since the first time I saw them.

What's been your impression for performance, sound and loudness?

Yeap, V&H.  Since my current mufflers are no longer made these will be their replacements when the time comes.
