90 Degree Valve Stems
« on: August 27, 2012, 10:45:06 PM »

I have been told that the CVO RG cannot accommodate a 90 degree V-stem. Does anyone have one? Any issues caused by this? I am tired of air chocks unable to straddle the existing stem while on the road. Thank you!

If they do work I would love to get one for the rear.

I can't imagine why a 90° or 45° valve stem wouldn't work on a Harley rim, assuming you get one that doesn't extend out past the edge of the rim and actually seats properly to the wheel.  There are many different kinds of valve stems, and some may not seat into the area available in those late model rims.  Stop by an automotive tire and wheel store or big auto parts store and see what they have.

Anyhow, if you look around you can find tire gauges that have a short hose that will screw onto your current stem and have a fitting for the air chuck from a compressor or gas station air hose.  That is another solution, and it's always better to carry your own gauge anyway instead of depending on those highly inaccurate things at a gas station.

Good points GRC, I'll post what I find out on the valve stem. The short hose may be a good addition for the road.

Looks great, works perfectly with nothing near in the way. Cost $18 from the dealer installed.

I saw that the 2013 CVO Road Glides have 45 degree valve stems.
