The problems start already!!!!!
« on: August 28, 2012, 06:30:19 AM »

I can't believe it has happened already. The new bike 2012 FLHTCUSE7 with 623 miles on it has a lifter problem. Rode the bike to the beach house last Wednesday. Stopped and met a bunch at the VFW to have a few and show off Saphire. Got ready to leave and had a lifter bleed down. It took over 5 miles for the thing to quite down. So the following morning up on the lift she went for a complete fluid change. Redline in all 3 holes. Yep out with the BADDDDD (syn 3) and in with the good. Well the lifter stopped making noise till I got about 250 miles on the oil change. Well the banging is back!!!!

So with 1200 miles on the bike. Today she gets a D&D Fat Kat and a race tuner to cool her down. I guess in 2 weeks when I have a little time it will be a Zippers 575 cams new lifters and push rods. That will be all I do except maybe a baisley spring.

Oh did I mention I HATE THE 110 MOTOR?????? This is my third one, and I have had problems with 2 of them!!!!

We have been seeing lifter issues on the 110 and others as a hit or miss deal.. The 2012 we did  several months ago had  a cold start lifter issue.. We install the gatormen lifters and customer has had no further problems.

Sucks that a new bikes needs extra parts.. But hey toss the stock stick , install a new set of lifters and move on.

Same thing happened with mine.  Lifters were quiet for a few days after changing fluids, then got noisy again.  Changed lifters, but same thing still happens.  Let us know if you find a fix.

Took it back to the stealer todat for a few other items. The lifters never bled down the whole time it was there. I had a D&D Fat Kat installed with the pro race tuner. All they could bleed out of the motor wa 91 hp and 110 tq. I am very unimpressed with this POS motor to say the least. Punkin turned 104 hp and 105 tq with a Thunder Max, Thunder Header and a SE air cleaner. There was no reason to even buy this bike in the first place. Oh well Im stuck with it now so it looks like a complete tear down winter project!!!!

Just saw you'd got the new bike Mike.  Sorry to read the honeymoon ended so quickly.  Punkin had a hands down better motor than the new bikes do.  Hate to see fighting the headaches already.

we`ve also seen a fair amount of lifter probs.its alot easier to build a 96"er up to 107" and make ALOT more power than a 110",and alot cheaper too.you`ll need to build your factory 110" to get any real power out of it

Of the 7 CVO 110"ers we've re-built this season alone, 3 have had rear lifter issues.

The 103 in the 04's is the best motor Harley ever offered.   I hope you still have that bike...  :nixweiss:

Dawg,, you will get that motor right. I was out on my "new" bike tonight and I'll tell you how well it runs.  I did cams lifters exhaust and a tune. You know no matter what bike you buy, stuff like that needs to be done.  I sill have my 04-103.  Agree,,I wont  get rid of that one either.  It's too good. But like you, I wanted the new stuff. Abs,new frame, big rear tire and all the rest.  That's why we do what we do.   You'll get it right. And when you do, you will love that "new" ride.   :2vrolijk_21:

Dawg are you really stuck on the 575 vs. either the 574 from Fueling or the new Kuryakin cam  or the CR 575 for the 110?
