Well I picked it up yesterday and put about 400 miles on it thru PA yesterday and today. I think the Airhawk part would have worked out- I liked changing the feel of the seat now and then- but the deal killer was how low it sat.

It was even lower than my C&C Fastback which is pretty low. I now realize this is a really bad thing because I feel like Im squatting on the seat which puts pressure on my butt and hips as soon as I get on it.

I could have given it more of a chance but I ended up stopping at an HD dealer in my travels today and picking up a Sundowner to get me home (did that cuz if I was going to return the Danny Gray I needed to do it State side since Dennis Kirk includes a prepaid return label only good in the US). Plus, I didnt want the seat to get too used or wet or else Dennis Kirk may have given me a hard time. Dealer let me leave it there for UPS pick up- nice people at Larrys HD in PA.

I doubt the Sundowner will be the answer, but I figure since they're popular it will be easy to sell it locally and not lose much on it if I dont like it.

I just sold my Corbin which Im kind of regretting- I gave it 3000 miles to break in, and it still didnt feel good like my old Corbins, but at least the shape of the seat was good, because I didnt get that squatting feeling like I do with so many others. I even emailed the buyer of my Corbin and told him Id take it back if he didnt like it.

The only seats left on my list are the Saddlemen Road Sofa, Lepera Maverick, or HD Hammock. Thing is, I want leather and I dont want a low ride so I dont know if these would fit the bill.

I'm worn out with trying to find a good 2 up seat- think Ill make do with the Sundowner for this year, and try again next spring.

Have you tried the Mustang Touring?  I love mine.

Yeah the Mustang was the first I tried. I put it on the bike to do the 1,500 mile ride home when I first bought the SERG, and it was actually comfy for the first couple days, but for the last 2 days, it seemed to be squishing my sensitive parts for some reason. Also I didn't think the vinyl was good quality because I ended up putting scratches in it by merely brushing away a couple little pebbles.

Suprisingly, I actually liked the Sundowner on the ride home- no discomfort at all after a 250 mile day. I'll have to give it more of a longer test in the future, but it would be ironic after trying all these several hundred dollar seats, then coming around full circle to liking one of the cheapest. Maybe my butt needs a bit of a softer foam contrary to what I thought I needed.

Dennis Kirk sent me an email that they will be crediting my account for the seat, so kudos to them and their generous return policy.

In the seat I had? It's an integrated Airhawk pad in both the rider and passenger seats.
