Intermittent Power Locks
« on: September 03, 2012, 11:18:35 PM »

The power locks on my '10 SEUC have become intermittent.  When they work, they will function with either the remote or dash switch.  When they don't, neither will cycle them.

I'm sure it's a loose connection - any direction as to where to look first?

Regards,
Roger

Bad battery?

Hmmm, how do you figure?  Remote still works if the dash switch works (see above).

I just wonder how many more little issues I'm going to see as the miles accumulate - almost 62K now.

my tour pack lock quit working took it to dealer said the plug under the tour pack was disconnected, check under the seat or tour pack for a loose plug.  dealer wrote the warranty work as a broken wire

Check the position of the module under the tour pak lid.  If it is moving around because of a lousy installation, the cable will move to a  location that will not allow the lock to fully function.  Thats my Problem    POOR QUALITY

Has to be a loose connector.  Most replies have missed the point.  Problem is with all of the locks, and with both the remote and switch.  I was hoping someone else had experienced the same issue.  Guess I'll be pulling off the outer fairing cap again.

Mine has also seemed to work intermittantly. I found the ignition not to lock once or twice, curious if it fails more than that and I didn't catch it. The dash button I haven't figured out how it supposed to work, so I never use it. I don't like how close I need to be to operate the remote lock either.

On mine, it seems to make a difference on which side of the bike I walk up on.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, I walk around to the other side it works.  Maybe it would've worked if I stayed on the same side and tried it several times?

And, most of the time it unlocks the bags and tour pack, but not the ignition switch.  I hit it several more times and the ignition unlocks.

I know I shouldn't, but I've just learned to live with it in 9,000 miles.  Only one time did I have to use the key to unlock the ignition.

I had the ignition lift up after I thought it was unlocked, and it did not unlock the handlebars. The cover of the ignition was very loose and would not slide back into position. Through several attempts while using the 'unlock' on the remote it fell into position. I mentioned the to the dealer and they said it was common and if I came in he would show me why it fails.
