2012 SE Ultra - Exhaust options
« on: September 04, 2012, 01:51:19 AM »

well my Bud finally pulled the trigger today and got a deal to good to pass up.... (about 3k off MSRP, when the deal was finale :2vrolijk_21:)

he has an Inferno sitting in his garage.

Now its time to spend some $$$$.

The dealer will be completing the tour pack removal next week. A low profile custom seat will complete the look. I gotta a good place to send him....

Exhaust and a tuner is the next purchase.

He would like to see some pics of some aftermarket pipes.

If you have some pics of you exhaust, would you post them in this thread for him.

I'll post up a few pic's for ya, when his street glide transformation is complete. As well as a part list. (if it was me, I'd give HD-Dude a call for a complete hook up with the tour pack RR)

Thanks

Rick

V&H HI-OUTPUT, Real deep mellow rumble and not to loud that you can't hear the radio, But when you twist the grip they will talk to you.  :2vrolijk_21:

I installed V & H true dual headers and V & H high outputs..... love them and sound great! It's my second set... had the same set up on my 09 CVO roadglide. I installed a fulsac set up on my friends 11 cvo ultra which was also nice but too quiet for me..... TTS or power command....

I have received the first of three shipments from Jackpot Pro Touring which uses a stainless steel X pipe and a carbon fiber trim on the tip to match the Harley accents. I purchased a tuner program able  but loaded with Fuelmoto spec. I wanted something different than the Reinhart which covers the oil dipstick. I have used Sampson pipes which Vance n Hines tuners in the past and was very happy with them. I will post pictures of the Jackpot set when I get it together.

I have been running the Zippers Thunder-Max with Auto-Tune for over 3 years with no problems and very well pleased, Three exhaust systems since installing the T-Max, All i have had to do after each change is ride the bike and the T-Max will retuned itself, When i changed to the V&H HO fuel milage dropped to around 32 to 34, now its back up to 36 to 38 riding two up.

My second choice would be the TTS Mastertune, From what i have heard about it.

Fullsac.

I agree, full sac baffles in the stock cans (2" for me), Fuelmoto cat less head pipe and a TTS tuner and a tune by a good tuner...

V&H Dresser Duals ( True Duals as they are also called ) then his choice on mufflers, CFR, Rhineheart 4" V&H , Stock, all depends on what kinda sound. HP and Torque are all too close to call and then it depends on the Tune. I like SE Race Tuner, Again everyone has their opinions, Mine is ,you pay 37K for A Harley Davidson Screamin Eagle Motorcycle and the engine they engineered and chose, why not use their Tuner ? Who knows their motors better than they do ? NO ONE... 110 years of making motorcycles, Enough SAID....Everybody has these crazy Dyno numbers with just a pipe and tuner..Cmon Man!!! If I can change the miles on my old car by 50K somebody can put 120HP on your 110 motor with just a pipe swap and good tune.So in the end the Header and Tuner will give you in the seat gains and about 10-12HP and or maybe a little better, and cool the bike down considerably from stock. Again, I feel the Mufflers are more of a sound preference than anything else. I like moderate loud so I listened to a lot of buddies bikes and chose Rhinehearts, Now the best sounding and baddest was the CFR, very deep authorative rumble but rode my buddies with mamma on the back and it was NO WAY. Enjoy your New bike my brother. The only better feeling in the world than a new Harley was the birth of my two sons and my freshman year in High School with a cheerleader named Jenny.

if i'm not misteakin TTS made the tuner for HD and was one in the same until they decided to to get out of bed together and split the sheets. so sert and the TTS are virtually the same except acourding to my tuner TTS has alot better support should he have a problem. so your 37K motorcycle should be in good hands with either...

I have an opinion......and it works.  ;)
D&D Fat Cat, or just as good ... Maybe a little better. Kury or V&H Powercell primaries with Kury "Crusher Mellow" mufflers. TTS Mastertune tuner.

He installed Vance Hines, true duals, power commander, and CFR tips. He loves the sounds (I have not seen it yet) and has said he can feel the seat of the pants extra power.

Also has order a Danny Gray custom seat.

I installed the Reinhardts and the ThunderTune on my brother's Ultra, went together very well and sounds a low mellow noise that will scream at open throttle. I installed the FuelMoto headpipe and mufflers ProTurning style and the DynaPro auto tune. It has a raspy tone that is a little unique to a Harley, more like the throttle sound of a Euro hotrod. I like it and have had good remarks on the looks and sound. It also went together well. I have noticed the left side pipe has less exhaust flow and shows a little light brown color at the tip, using an X pipe too. Have thought about closing the left side off. Both sets I went to the 5 wire O2 sensors. Very pleased on both set ups. Both of us riding seem to feel each gear has longer use, hard to explain. My experience with power is awesome, if I catch the powerband just right on a second gear shift I will find the front tire in the air about ten inches.
