One week ago today, I took my B & O JESTER in for her 1000 mile service after 12 days of ownership, in preparation for a 900+ mile in(OUT)-law family reunion ride last weekend. I told them that sometimes the clutch had to be REALLY tight up against the handlebar to shift, and that first gear was engaged about 1/4 inch off of the grip, and that maybe the bike could use a little clutch adjustment.
The next day, Tuesday the 15th, I called to make sure the work was completed, as my dealership is on the other side of Omaha, and they said that the Tech. agreed something was amiss with the clutch, and they had a call in to Harley Tech., and would like to keep the bike overnight. I said fine and NO prob.
I checked in again Wednesday afternoon, and the Service Manager replied they still had not even heard from Harley Tech., so I called the dealership Owner and G.M. (both friends) and whined some, as I was supposed to leave on my bike for Hannibal, MO on Thursday at NOON. They promptly replied that they would have a loaner bike ready for me to take on my trip IF they did not have my bike ready by noon on Thursday.
Thursday LATE AM I drove out to the Dealer and promptly saw THE JESTER leaving the dealership on a test ride, which was exciting, but to no avail. The Lead Tech. and the Service Manager still felt something was not right, so I was given a 2006 Pearl White Ultra Classic w/ Six Speed to take on my trip and we left town thru yesterday (Sunday), and the ONLY good thing is that I now have 900+ less miles on my new bike then I would have!
Called the dealer this AM, and they informed me that the H-D Regional Service Rep. was in the area, and came and rode THE JESTER on Friday and authorized a complete teardown of her clutch with complete replacement if needed (how long with this take, parts availability, etc.!?!?!?!.
The Dealership owner told me to keep the loaner Ultra until THE JESTER is released from the Hospital, which was very good and proper customer service.
SO.................................................................................................
Has anybody else had any hydraulic clutch issues with their new 07's?
Keep an eye on this situation if you haven't.
AND, A BIG KUDOS to Dillon Bros. H-D in Omaha for doing the best they could under the circumstances for me, but it has already been a week and I MISS MY GIRL!!!
