I always heard the saying growing up that there were two types of people:  those from Texas and those that wish they were... :2vrolijk_21:

Ain't from thar (Alabama via East Tennessee) but know quite a few folks that are.

Hey TFB, on your list you mention Ding Dong, TX...that would go with the post in Humor about "medical oops" by bubtrauma.  Well, if you put "Lackof" in front of it....hardee har har... :bananarock:

Lived in a small northern Texas town called 'Petrolia' when I was a wee youngin'.....got it's name from crude oil coming up out of the ground nearby.
It's also close to 'Temple, TX'....but, I don't think there are any temples there.

Regarding "West, Texas 76691 (it's in Central Texas)"  .... it's a quant little town....still have quite a few relatives around there.

However.....we have a 'WAHOO, Nebraska' !    Will leave it up to you to figure out how it got that name.... :)

Oklahoma has a few weird named towns too:

Fourty One, Okla.
Horntown, Okla.
Iron Post, Okla.
Slap Out, Okla.
Frogville, Okla.
Broken Bow, Okla. & Broken Arrow, Okla. (we're rough on the indians)
Gene Autry (we like the old cowboys)
Bushyhead, Okla.
Bowlegs, Okla.
And finally:  Hooker, Okla. and Beaver, Okla.

Just to name a few.
