Passenger Headset connector relocation
« on: August 22, 2006, 03:54:07 PM »

I remember reading a thread that described how to move the passenger headset cord and make it a part of the seat on the side.  I am looking for that thread and  step-by-step instructions on how to do it.  I moved the connector to the rear of the passenger seat, (the hole between the seat and the seat back), but noticed that the head of the connector is starting to wear on the top of the seat.  I want to do the install and would appreciate help with finding the link and some step-by-step help.  Thanks

Don't know about step bye step but I found this link with pictures.

Shouldn't be to hard to do. I ride two up most times but I have headset cods that detatch in the middle and when I ride alone I put the half headset cord (pulled) under the seat strap and that holds the connector away from the lid. You can see it in the picture on the back seat  [smiley=jalapeno.gif]

See reply #39 on page three for complete step-by-step.  Let us know how this goes.  Need to do same since my new saddlebag lid just came in.

I had no idea the 07 has this set up.  I read that in the other thread and looked at the pic of Alvis' new ride.  Sure enough there it is.

Just read the instructions and had a thought...has anyone installed the connector to the inside of the POD, rather than on the outside?  It would seem that it would be easier for the passenger to plug in if they could see the connector [smiley=nixweiss.gif] Let me know if anyone has done the install this way...pics appreciated.

ultrafixer, yea I used a dremel to remove the small peice of plastic (a bit more then 1/8th) I drilled through the speaker box but not through the leather then I cut the leather with a xzacto knife. smaller then needed for the connector to go through. the leather stretches and gives you a good tight fit hope this helps

Trust me they read. More then likely the read every post here like you and I. Now they may be slow at correcting defects, or slow at customer service. I guess they just wait to see how much complaining we do, and how many complain about the same thing. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
