110 bagger pipes
« on: September 10, 2012, 02:53:35 PM »

I am considering the V&H true dual header or Xpipe header with either the monster round or monster oval. Any one running these combinations. Looking for deep rumble but able to listen to tunes at 75. I am also a power guy loving all I can get with a balance of hp/tq.

I have V & H true duals and high outputs on this bike.... I love the sound but can be a little loud at 80 plus mph / 3000 plus rpms on the highway... I installed the fulsac header pipe and cores on a friends cvo ultra last year and  it was a lot quieter if thats what your looking for in sound...

I understand the monsters are not as loud as the high outputs, I have not been able to compare the difference but the HD dealership indicates the high outputs are great for power but loud. the monsters are good for power deep rumble but still hear the radio at high rpm???

I have the MO with the stock header.  I get complemented on the deep sound on a regular basis.  I can hear the radio with no problem.  Unless I have the throttle open hard, then they bark pretty good.  Plus, they look bad-azz.

The only drawback is that they are heavy.

Just hung up with tech support at V&H he suggest for power on the 110 to go with the Xpipe and the high output but will be at 105 decibles which is fairly loud. Compared to the monsters at 96 decibels. The monsters are very restrictive on our 110 but still produce low end torque peaking around 4000rpm. Your high output continues to pull after 4k. Just have to deal with the loud. I have a convertable 2011 110 with the V&H big radius pulls like a freight train dynoed 99HP/119TQ....loud at 117decibels.

I put the V&H Dresser Duals with Monster Rounds on mine.  Love the sound, and you can still hear the tunes just fine.  Very pleased!

Here's one shot of it. I don't have a rear view pix of it with the ghost pipe. Seems like a few say that they're prone to decel pop which I've experienced. There's another shot of it in my sig pix.
