Exhaust for power, sound, looks
« on: September 11, 2012, 11:23:35 AM »

I have always been into getting the most power out of any engine as possible along with the deep rumble that the 110 can produce. I also want to hear the radio going down the highway at 75. Let's not compromise the appareance. Please describe also if you prefer the x pipe or true dual header and why.

I have the V&H X-Pipe and I love it  :2vrolijk_21:  It gives the MC more of a deeper rumble coming out of my 4" Rineharts and it increased my hp by 10 according to my dyno.

I have the Fullsac pipe and 2.0 baffles.  I chose these for a good rumble, but can still hear my tunes.  Had true duels and V&H slipons on my old 103 and they were much louder than the Fullsac 2.0s.

Did you dyno and if so what were the gains?

On my 09 I had fullsac with the 2.25 baffle sounded very good, but the V&H high output sounded deeper when I heard it.  So I switched to the V&H high output.  the High Output was louder and deeper.  Trade off in loss of some torque was not worth the deeper sound in my opinion.  The High Outputs do not have enough back pressure for a mild 110 motor.

Still have the High outputs, but not on a bike.

I am more interested in power.

What numbers did you get with the 2.25 hp/tq? did you install Steve's xpipe header?

No dyno (you can check Fullsac's website, I believe they have some dyno info for their setup on a 110).

2010 FLHTH with Fullsac header & 2" baffle. Typical stage 1 Dyno results. However, I don't consider Fullsac the "cheapest" alternative. Sound is perfect for me. Riding partner uses the 1.75 which is a little quieter. The whole package of headers, baffles and TTS is very hard to beat. Brother is using V&H with High Outputs on a CVO Street Glide. Looks good, sounds great but more expensive. I prefer the stock appearance of the Fullsac. My exhaust are 4" CVO takeoffs from E-Bay. Fullsac service is just the final touch. System appears to have enough flexibility to tune mild to wild or anywhere in between. Just MHO.        JoeS

Had Fullsac complete on the 09, including baffles.  Heard the Vance and Hines High outputs.  Loved them, so I put them on the bike.  Loved the sound.  However, I lost a few foot pounds of torque below 3500 rpm.  Most my riding is below 3500 RPM, so I put the fullsac back on.  Head pipe was a catless factory head pipe with both mufflers.

So, it has nothing to do with money.

I have been involved with a few race cars and presently have a supercharged Z06 with heads and cam and definantly can feel a difference in a few pounds of torque.
Torque makes a difference in launching the bike or car and going through the first couple or even 3 gears. It is not as noticible to loose HP.
Yes loosing 3 lbs of tq is noticble on a bike especially 0 to 80.
