Anyone put 13" rotors on a SEEG???
« on: September 12, 2012, 07:07:34 PM »

My 2010 SEEG has warped 2 sets of rotors (61K) miles. I want to put a set of 13" rotors with 6 piston calipers on it. Has anyone done this? Does it mess up the ABS? Can you use the stock master cylinder? I'm thinking of goi with either PM, J brake or HHI calipers. Any information appreciated.

Using the stock master cylinder or not will be a question to direct to the vendor of the aftermarket calipers.  Some will suggest a master cylinder change and others will not.  The ABS sensors aren't part of the rotors so the system won't care about a rotor change.

What kind of 6 piston calipers are you considering?  I would recommend doing 4 piston Hawg Halters or Pm's wit the 13" rotors as the dual 6 pistons is really over kill.  As far as the warped rotors were they 1 piece or two piece rotors?  The Brembo calipers have a tendency to warp rotors a bit easier than the earlier style calipers.  They seem to create and excessive amount of heat.  Another option for rotors are the Lyndall carbon composite rotors that carry a lifetime warranty.
