Loose module under tour pack lid
« on: September 13, 2012, 10:23:52 PM »

Hello to everyone,
Is anyone having trouble keeping the lock module attached to the underside of the
tour pack lid ? The double sided tape is not holding the module in place. Help please.

 Thanks in advance

I had the same problem. Pulled the liner, took of the cheap crap tape, used a scotchbrite pad to scuff the module and lid then used the 3M outdoor 2 sided tape. the stuff is almost like a putty and super sticky. I used it on my other bike when i went through my " light up the bike with LED's " phase, the stuff holds like iron. Had to pry 'em off and have Had no problems with the module coming loose since.

Same problem for me,
I did use the 3M  plastic velcro type and I can remove it if I want.

If you do not fix soon, you may find that opening the tour pack will become very challenging.
Mine fell and jammed the lock that prevented the key from opening .

had to pry lid open enough to get a slim jim in.

Another crap job from HD.  WHY cannot they get this stuff right?  My bike runs great, a blast to ride, but the little annoyances and major flubs (Suck azz suspension) have about convinced me to just fix the issues with this one, and avoid buying another.

Boy, after 3 failed attempts to reattach the module with double sided tape, I went to my local fabric shop and bought industrial strength Velcro with the adhesive side....Problem solved.
