My 5 will be here next week.  So, what's involved in setting it up?  I have a 4s now that is backed up to iTunes and is running the new iOS 6.0.

Its easy to set up. Just like before. Goes through ITunes. Same as before. I loaded up something like 1800 songs in about 15 minutes. Everything about is very fast.  I like it.  :2vrolijk_21:

The 4s I have now is my first iPhone, so there isn't any "before." :P  Sounds like iTunes does all the work. :nervous:

Brian -are getting it at a retail store? If so you could just have them transfer everything over.
But the integration with iPhone-iTunes-iCloud sure does make it easier.

Called yesterday to ironcross audio and was told with the adapter the iphone5 works with the HDPDPlus2 without any problems.
Bought the iphone5 after that.
Coming from my 4g HTC EVO this is smokin fast and I am not even in LTE coverage so at 3g this still blows away my Evo in 4g.
This is going to be my one stop shop for GPS, itunes, phone, camera, video camera.  Now I just want a clean way to put it on the hog.

Something to think about:  The HD dash mount is a standard AMPS patter, so RAM or Otterbox, allong with others, will bolt right up to the dash mount if you're not using the GPS, or RAM has a plate that will enable mounting two devices to one mount.

Good luck!

I'm sure they are working on their new iPhone 5 compatible unit as we speak.

Ok just got my adapter (got the one with the short cable) and it works perfect with my alpine. I know most of you guys here will be using this with the late model harley radio but I just wanted to report that it will see the entire mp3 data, it will control the ipod feature via my handle bar controls, it shows album art, and will play pandora with album art on the rado also...

Got my 5 today.  When Stu said it was easy to set up, I had no idea it could really be THAT easy.  iTunes does all the work, just gotta be patient while it syncs.

I don't notice a tremendous difference between this and my 4s yet.  I am in an area with LTE and it's fast alright, I just haven't noticed it being night and day different than 3G.

In fact, I was perfectly happy with my 4s and the only reason I got the 5 is my battery went toes up right after I got back from MV and we had a couple upgrades available on other phones, so I took it.  One of the guys at work said I probably killed the battery having it hooked up to the bike for three days down there so I could listen to tunes.  He thinks the iPhone needs a well-regulated line and that the charging system on the bike toasted the battery.  I called BS, but what do you guys think? :nixweiss:

I like the 5, but my 3 had a better phone.  reception was better.

lots of goodies, but I could have stayed with the 3.

speed much faster and I get 4G LTE signal most of the time.

I have had this a couple of weeks

At worst you could keep the 4s as a spare. It's very easy to change the battery. Get a pentalobe screwdriver on ebay for $2, take the screws off the bottom, slide the rear cover up and off. Then a 00 philips screw holds down the battery connection clip. Unscrew, pop clip off and pull plastic tab to remove and replace battery. $10-20 depending on where you order battery from.

That's good info., thanks.  This was a company phone, so it was no biggie to just take the upgrade, but my daughter also has a 4s, so if hers goes, I'm off to eBay! :)

Check my thread. iPhone 5 does NOT work on 2011 SESG with the Lightning to 30 pin adapter.
