That's why we should pay attention to our riding and not to sounding cool on some stupid narration.  Have to deal with being on the road rather than trying to sound like "On the Road."  Very glad he didn't seem badly injured.  But "cool" is getting there in one piece; not sounding good as you do it.

Amen to that.  And just to show how nuts consider this the next time you hear some guy at a bar talking how he "just missed" whatever it was dumb luck kept him out of.  The following four screen captures, from the frame the deer is first seen until two or three frames after the impact and you see dear meat flying away with bike parts, all happened within the 33 second mark on the video.  In fact well within.  Couldn't tell exactly with the video as it was posted but it was close to .6 seconds.

When chit happens that quick it only highlights further how dumb the guy was trying to sound cool narrating his video.  There's just not time to intentionally not pay attention.

Twolane I am sure you remember my encounter with a deer years ago. Summer of 2006 to be exact. I was lucky. I went down and my passenger was ejected before the bike hit the ground. I was on a friends Ultra and was pinned under it as we slid down the road a good distance. I guess the really only good thing that came out of that was?????? (drum roll) No Don not what you were thinking. Zippers still had Ole Punkin, so that is why I was on my friends Ultra!!!! SOOOOO Punkin was spared a wreck job!!!!!

Funny all of this is comming out. While riding Saphire the other day was on a scenic route home from DC I had a deer come off a bank and JUMP OVER me. I chit my pants, ducked and looked in the left hand mirror to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. All I know was it was big. I couldn't tell if it was sporting IVORY or not!!! 

To say it shook me up is an understatement. I didn't know rather I should chit or go blind. I guess already having a run in with a deer makes just a little paranoid on the bike.
