We got inundated by tourists who wanted pictures.  So much so, the guys gave me a new nickname, "Hollywood."   :coolblue:  NO!  don't call me that unless....   >:(

So, on the last ride through the park, we ran into Panhead Jimmy.  This time it was Eagle Eye / Ken!

Yessser!  It was quite the surprise to see friends at the Yosemite Valley...and then later at the same hotel in Reno!  Hope the pin striping when as well as expected Greg.

On the way into South Lake Tahoe, we took Pioneer Trail which is a great traffic bypass.  As you can see, we met some of the local this way.

Broke even at Harrah's that night.  Just could not get traction at the Blackjack table.  Next morning it was down the grade through Carson City and on to Reno.  This really caught my eye.  And they say motorcycling is dangerous?    :nixweiss:

Got hammered at Harrah's Reno (blackjack, not liquor).   :(  Next day it was off to Virginia City.  Had to take in the view on the way and get a group shot.  One of us was smart and had his wife fly into Reno to meet us.  He's the one smiling... or not.

Route 341 from the north into Virginia City is Called Geiger Grade Road.  It's a great ride with great views of the Carson Valley and the Sierras.

Get into Virginia City early if you go.  We got centralized parking in the shade before the crowd got crazy.  Had a great breakfast at the Palace and got out before the "Bead Party" started.

Looking South...  The Mark Twain Museum is worth the look, BTW.

For a "donation," you can take "Stinky's" picture.  No, the mule did not stink!   :nervous:   :nervous:

In Virginia City, you will see boldly lettered signs for two attractions: the Bucket of Blood Saloon (a name over-promising what you'll see), and "The Famous Suicide Table."

The Suicide Table is in the Delta Saloon, past the slot machines in the rear. It's an old Faro Bank Table dating from the 1860s, claimed to be responsible for the deaths of three of its owners. Large signs explain the game of Faro and tell the fatal furniture tale.   The first casualty of the Suicide Table was said to be "Black Jake," who lost $70,000 playing cards one evening and shot himself. The next victim is an unnamed second owner who was "unable to pay his losses," so the official record doesn't verify whether he committed suicide or was cashed in by his angry creditors.

The table was "stored from some years because no one would Deal on it" (but apparently too much of an investment to outright destroy). In the late 1890s, someone converted it into a "21" table, and its cursed history seemed to have been forgotten, "until one stormy night."

A drunken miner wandered in and had a wild streak of gambling luck. $86,000, "a team of horses, and an interest in a gold mine. Everything the owner of the table had in the world." So the owner promptly departed this world for the next....
