If you are referring to the yaffe stealth plate I did not have any lines when mine came off but then again I did mine prior to taking delivery.  Any chance its a residue or did the old housing actually break the clear?

I think it may have broke the clear because I cannot get the marks off with anything I have used.

Can you put up a pic. I also have the Stealth and it looks like Wayne's pic in reply #15. Covers everything perfectly.

Maybe the rubber gasket pulled some of the clear coat off??? Not sure how that would have happened....  The Yaffe part goes on and covers all holes or marks left by the original piece. You may want to put the original back and see if it covers the marks that you are seeing. Just a thought....

The Yaffee Stealth 111 does not cover all the old assembly on the 2012 sesg.

Here is a pic.If you look real close you can see where the red reflector used to be & also about 1/4 inch down below the plate is a line where the bottom of the old plate was.

The one mark is right in the center of top where red reflector was.

You know any good paint/body shops in your area? Might want to have them take a look at it they may be able to wet sand it out depending on how deep/if it went into the clear coat. :nixweiss:

I think I will go to a local body shop & ask them about that, but I just can't believe that of all the bikers that have put this plate on nobody else has had this problem.

I split this post off and those after that responded to it since you started a new thread. This way all the posts about it can be in one thread now.

A sheet of 2000 grit paper will wetsand this out in about a minute. Go slow, be careful and buff the scratches at slow speed with a yellow rubber pad or clean new wool pad then finish with red or yellow rubber pad on a regular or orbital buffer.  No one will ever know.
