Need some help
« on: October 05, 2012, 03:42:17 PM »

I cannot figure out the security system on my '05 SEEG. I did not get the owners manual with this bike and I cannot find anything online pertaining to the security system. As I understand it, all of the SEEG's are supposed to have the factory security system. But when I shut my bike off there is no blinking of the turn signals and there is no blinking light on the speedo. Also, the bike will start whether the fob is near it or not. What gives? Is the something I'm missing here or what?

I believe its a manual alarm, my 04 (think its the same) you have to set by holding the button down on the fob for a couple seconds, the turn signals will flash twice (all 4) and the siren will chirp twice when set.  To unarm, press the fob button twice in a row fairly quickly, the turn signals will flash once, no chirp.

The '06 and earlier bikes have the superior (IMHO) manual security system that lets you choose when to arm and disarm it.  Your fobs should have a button in the center.  As Brad mentioned, to arm the security system hold the button down until the turn signals flash twice and the siren chirps twice.  To disarm the system give the button a double push (like a double click on your mouse).  The signals should flash once and you should get a single chirp.
