You can blow some compressed air in the opening and/or some tri-flow in there. sometimes it works

Take it apart... There is a small stud with a nut on the back of the horn... Adjust it in or out for the loudest sound.

It was full of water. I guess I have to stop riding in heavy rain. It's better but I think it will have to be replaced.

Just run the wires to a sensitive portion of your body, and when you push the horn button you will scream.  It's likely to be at least as loud as the cheap horns Harley installs.

OK, so much for the cheesy attempt at humor.  You can probably get a replacement on the internet cheaper than what your dealer would charge.  And if the bike is still in warranty, it's probably not worth a 180 mile round trip to get it covered under warranty.  If all you need is a basic horn to pass state inspection, go to Pep Boys or most other auto parts stores and look for the FIAMM Freeway Blaster.  You can usually find one for about $20 or less and it fit's under the cover just like the stocker.

Nope, I no longer own the bike I installed one on many years back.  Perhaps they've changed the horn, or perhaps they never tried it.  Anyhow, there are plenty of standard automotive horns that will fit.  The one that came on my '05 is the exact same horn we were using in the auto assembly plant I worked at, right down to the part number on the back.  The only difference was we installed two horns on the cars, both a high and a low tone, and of course Harley only installs one (because they're too cheap to do it right).

Muddypaws, you can adjust your horn like has been mentioned. Also a company called ProPad makes a really good self contained air horn with a nice looking cover. I have one on my 95 Heritage. The stock horn on my 09 was very loud from the factory. I remember saying to my wife that the first thing I was going to do was replace the horn, but no need. Also Harbor Freight sells a self contained air horn ( no cover) looks just like they "Bad Boy"brand. I have never used one , but price is right. Also there is Groit's garage which probably has the same thing for twice the money. CAHDBIKER

Spray the crap out of it with WD 40 up inside the cover.

CHRIS Products makes a mini 2.5" dia. horn that you can mount under the stock cowbell.   Ebay for under $10 and every bit as loud or louder than stock HD.

Also, I would think any Harley shop would have some oem "take-offs" lying around in the back as well.  Amazing what a 6 or 12 pack will get you if you talk to the right techs.

I'm not sure how the water could get in the horn but it did.

Maybe that is the H-D test model for a water cooled touring bike?  :huepfenlol2:
