Now that the 2012 CVO production line is "down" and the 2013's are out I'd like to know how many of my particular bike ( Black/Slate 2012 FLHXSE3...) were built/distributed/sold--does anyone know where I can find this info?  Inquiring minds want to know...Cheers, Moose

JCZ is correct.  While the HD website shows the total CVO output for the model of each year, it doesn't show color run.  I have a letter into them requesting color run numbers, specifically for the Skunk SERG and the Ruby SESG.  Here's the link to the total number page:

If you are wondering why JCZ didn't mention sending an email, the MoCo doesn't accept email communications at this time and only lists their mailing address.  I'm sure you may be able to request this through your dealer but (and why I send a letter), it would be cool to have communcations from the company with HD letterhead stating the numbers of your specific bike.  I know that's sorta nerdy but I have never been mistaken for being cool.

After several experiences with incorrect numbers being mailed out in response letters (like this one to Brian) and given out on the phone, I only trust the direct copy/pastes from the H-D database that I have obtained for every year/model/color/market.  There has been too much misinformation with the human factor.  All numbers I've presented in this thread are accurate and have been confirmed three or more times.

Here are the accurate database numbers for the 2000 FLTRSEI.  Notice the numbers in the letter omitted the CAL quantities.

But the numbers for the 2004 FLHTCSE were correct, as were the numbers in your letter for the 2001 FLTRSEI2.  The numbers in this thread are all valid and trustworthy.  I still have all the e-mails from the H-D database copy/pastes.

Several others have received various incorrect numbers through the years via mail or phone.  That was the source of the long-incorrect numbers for the Blue-flame FXRs being so low, among a few others.

Simple.  As I said, all my info is via e-mails containing direct copy/pastes from H-D's production database.  I spent several months acquiring them, and many hours compiling the numbers from that format.  I have all numbers for all years of all models and all colors for all markets.  That's certainly never been done by anyone else.

Most of the numbers others have received via letters and phone calls have been correct, including yours for the FLTRSEI2.  But Brian's letter had numbers for the FLTRSEI that omitted the California quantities.  We can know that by looking at the complete numbers breakdown that I have of all markets.  That's how I've found every previously-reported errors from letters and calls.  Look at my numbers.  Brian's FLTRSEI letter numbers excluded the CAL quantities.  It's very plain.

Look back through the "CVO Numbers" thread (also in General Discussion on page 1, since I've updated it).  I've posted every production number for every year, model, color, and market, and my info came straight from H-D.  But more importantly, it came from direct H-D database copy/paste documents.  There was no human element of transferring numbers and missing a column or skipping a line to omit numbers.

The letters are from H-D Customer Service, and typed by a human reading many columns of numbers on a screen, and then retyping them or reciting them verbally.  Details get missed, like the CAL quantities in Brian's letter.  MY numbers also came from H-D Customer Service, but from a long-time manager who sent me the untouched, untransposed numbers straight from the database, just like an Excel spreadsheet.  Same source, but from management and by a better means of transmitting the information without error.

MY numbers are the correct numbers.  I went to great pains to ensure they were absolutely correct for my collection, just as I have done for my Ducati collection and others.  The sheer bulk and detail of information should speak for itself.  You and others can choose which numbers to believe for the several discrepancies; but nobody has researched this on anywhere near the scale of my efforts, and I'd think that would be very obvious.

People make mistakes.  I eliminated that possibility by having direct database printouts sent to me multiple times.  If that doesn't convince everyone, I doubt anything will except their own perception.  I was just sharing the fruits of my labors with the forum, since much of this info was missing and some was inaccurate.

I'd have to wonder where anyone has seen all this info anywhere else by anyone else; and why a few wrong numbers that can be accounted for would be preferable to the exhaustive information I've provided, which also reconciles why other numbers were wrong by an employee omitting a column at various times through the years in correspondence regarding requests.  Check Brian's letter and my numbers posted above.  Add the CAL numbers, and it all flushes up.  Mine are the correct numbers.

WYD OPN you have clearly done a lot of work on this but you still haven't answer the questions I asked above.

In a world of verification, documentation and credibility the written word from a public source is what I rely on.
As hard as it is to pin the Motor Company down on anything in writing, when they post numbers for production for the public it's hard for me to under why those numbers don't add up to yours.

Example

your production numbers for the 12 SERGC
"2012 FLTRXSE  ROAD GLIDE CUSTOM:  2,643"

The Motor Company numbers are
"approx. 1485"

Although the Motor Company numbers states their numbers are approx.
It's difficult for me to believe the Motor Company numbers are off by 1158 bikes.
2643 -1485 = 1158

Actually, I was the second to do this.  "RedFXR2," who is no longer a member here, was the first, and the one who received the now infamous and apparently bogus blue flame FXR3 numbers in the response he received from Mr. Selensky.  His letter can still be found in the FXR2, 3, 4 section of this site (http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=10329.0).

I think you guys both raise good points.  It would add a tremendous amount of credibility to WO's numbers if there was some evidence that they actually came from H-D, beyond his word that they do.  However, I also agree with WO that the Selensky letters are not error-free.  I point to his quoting of the yellow pearl/platinum mist color being the other 2004 color in the letter I received from him above as evidence.  As we all know, that was a 2005 color.  If he can't get that right, it's hard for me to place complete faith in any of the numbers he provides.

Isn't this list itself incomplete?  You seem to be leaving off the special runs for each of these years/models, if they in fact had any.  I know there were 5 for the 2009 FXSTSSE3 alone.  You seem to be including them in 2012.

If you'll check the "CVO Numbers" thread (General Discussion) that has been updated, you'll find that I posted several listings of every number for every market.  This list is just the summary of colors.  Each year, model, color, and market is in that thread from my posts of nearly a year ago.  The "Special" and "No Color on Build" numbes are all included for every year/model.
