I am also retired, I was willing to get a part time job to pay for it if i had too. But I was able to work it all out to stay retired and play with my bike. I have no regrets. I wish the riding season wasn't coming to a close for this year.

I wonder why the CVO kings seem to sit on the floor a bit.  The Road Glides and Street glides rarely make it to the floor.

Figured the King would be a hit.  Especially with the sound system

Could be that the older crowd how can afford a CVO want larger fixed windshields and not the type of windshield a RK offers.

Could be the fixed shield thing.

I would not say larger though as the 09 CVO road glide had no wind protection compared to the 13 CVO King.  The CVO street glides, pretty much have less windshield too.

Maybe up North they are not selling as fast.  Down here I have not seen a single one on the floor.  I bought mine before it was out of the crate.

The windshield is not fixed, It detaches just like the regular RKC shield.  Im going to buy a regular shield for touring, the oem dark tint is a nice shield on the highway, but does not offer as much wind protection as the regular RKC shield.

The lowers are fantastic.

Is this the first CVO RK with hard bags?

Im hooked on CVOs, I dont see myself buying a non-CVO touring bike ever again.

There's been a blue 2013 SERK sitting on the floor at Richmond HD North for over a month now (plus they still have a 2012 Convertable).  They didn't even get the SERGC or SEUC8 on the floor and they were gone.  Still maintain that the full dressers (faired) sell faster than any of the other CVOs.

All of the CVO Road Kings have had hard bags, just that the 2007 and 2008 bags were covered with pleather .  The '02 and '03 SERKs had painted hard bags.

There has been a Blue and a Red 2013 CVO RoadKing sitting on the L-A HD Dealers showroom for over a month.

The Windsplitter windscreen, Lowers, Saddlebag lids with speakers and iPod are all things that I would never want. 2013 is thwe 1st year HD has tried tunes on a RoadKing.

The Ipod and speakers are why I am getting the CVO King.  I love having tunes on a bike.  The windsplitter is no big deal, as the stock shield on my 09 SERG was more worthless than the windsplitter.  The stock shield on my 12 SERGC is about as good as the splitter.

I am surprised they are not moving faster, the King for a long time was one of HD's best sellers, you can use them to tour, and they are move versatile than the rest of the touring line.

I had a deposit on one & then rode one at the demo days & must say I am so glad I got the sesg instead.I am 6'2" & my knees felt like they were up in my chest.Don't know what is different but it was. Also the shield was of no use for my Ht.Transmission was very loud at low gears.I guess to each his own but it was not the bike for me.

That 200w sound system rocks.

This is perfect for my misses, she does not feel confortable on a fairing bike.

She has been riding for only about 3 1/2 years, this is her 8th bike.

I think she has finally found the one that fits her.

I hope so, its getting expensive!

Interesting.  I am 6'1".  While I agree the shield is good for people up to 5'8" on the CVO King, the rest I feel differently about.  The Street glide is here I feel cramped and closed in, like the fairing is on my lap.

I do agree with the to each his own, the King is a much better fit than a Street glide for me
