Mine came today but I don't have this bike anymore!!!!

If H-D collectibles would make a coin something like that were you could get your model on it like they do with the Owner's Ring from Jostens, I would buy one.  It would be like the challenge coins that they started a few years ago.  Just a thought. ;)

Yep.....recieved mine today. 2 Museum/dog tag passes (Millwaukee only 2200mi. from my home) some paper back reading material and yes the gold coin that is some other metal with the CVO Road Glide Custom on it. Thought they might at least put your name on it. However on the flip side it does have the insignia of the gold key. I was told I would be getting a plaque in replacement of the gold key.  :nixweiss:

It might even look better if you removed the blue protective plastic from the bar&sheild area.
That's so funny!  Had the thing for four years & didn't realize that it had the protective covering.  I just thought that it had some sort of epoxy covering, closed the box & didn't really look at it again.  Peeled the blue off last night, and voila!  It is actually pretty darn nice looking. Glad that I kept it when I traded in the '09 for the '13.  The dealer never asked for it, or anything else for that matter (maintenance records, any original or replaced parts, etc.).  As far as the value of the key, they are floating all over eBay for $20 -$50, so they are not much in demand.

My gold key fits my ignition and works to lock and unlock the bike.  Don't know why anyone would want a gold key that doesn't match the bike.  If you can get $20-$50 for the key on Ebay, go fer it!

The least they could do is send one that is the same model as the bike.

Yup, no key this year. Must the museum passes and a useless medallion which I have yet to receive

Well crap.  I didn't realize until reading this post that the gold key was discontinued.  I didn't find it when I was unpacking all the stuff out of the saddlebag, so I called my dealer to complain.  They couldn't find it, so they're ordering me a new one ????  Obviously, they don't know that it's discontinued either!

That was two passes for the Harley Museum in Milwaukee, at least that was what I read somewhere.

Jerry

That's what I got with my 2013 SE8  Two passes to the museum in Milwaukee!  Don't know if they are onetime one good for multiple visits.

So, I called H-D customer service about the Breakout coin, and they referred me to the H-D museum.  Apparently, it was part of the CVO membership package.  After about a week, the correct coin showed up in the mail.

Does anyone know if HD corporate just stuck it to us 2013 CVO buyers?  I was hoping on the Gold Key and I do believe it may have went the way of the Buffalo.  Probably to increase the profit margins for the HD suits.  After all, we just paid thousands upon thousands of dollars, and that key had to cost Harley Davidson a whopping $1.20.

Well, as it turns out, you get a gold key!  Or, at least I did.  When I took delivery on December 22 there was no gold key to be found in/on the bike.  My dealer told me that there should be and they would get me a gold key.

I picked it up today.

So, either the gold key IS part of the 2013 CVO package, or my dealer is very cool and ordered me a gold key and paid for it themselves!

Either way, I got a gold key with my 2013 CVO road Glide.

The Gold key is not part of the package.

So your dealer was cool and bought you one.  Nice of them.

Maybe I'm the odd one I carry my key along with the fob instead of the 2 keys that came with it. IMHO the regular keys with the remote locks on it are way to big to carry along with the fob. Just so I have a key with me I can lock my bags and tp from the button on the dash so no need for a big a$$ key in my pocket. Had to have a key to lock up my 05 ultra so nothing new to me. The way I see it for as much as the bike cost I might as well us it because it won't make the bike worth anymore if it were in mint condition if I were to sell the bike.

For what it's worth, I bought one of these "coin mounts" off eBay and mounted the '13 challenge coin on the horn. Looks good, and what else was I going to do with that coin?

I ordered a gold key out of the P&A catalogue too...just cuz.
