Yes, it is still under warranty, I bought it brand new.
They are a very good dealer but I guess it is their first time to run through a problem like this in cvo, because me myself, I know most of the client who bought a cvo from the same dealer, I'm the first one to face this problem.

Oh, trust me... they've seen PLENTY of lifter problems before...

But it's under warranty, so don't worry about it... if something else goes wrong, they'll have to fix it.

They have replaced the lifters, then they test the bike, and guess what, we have now a higher sound than before, they have contacted Harley Europe and Harley ask them to unmounted the engine again to find the problem. I m totally not happy about that specially for such a bike so, I'm trying with them now to replace the engine otherwise,I'm done with Harley.

My wife's bike had the same problem as in the metal noise 9800 miles.  My dealer also took the bike apart and saw that the cams were scored.  They never did determine what the noise was, the dealer just had Harley replace the engine.  It did take some time for HD to agree, but they did and all is well.  Good Luck.

Ok. I am back in the (new very cool C&C with backrest) saddle again. A few things. The iPod/stereo seems a bit wacky on response, it has gotten stuck and won't restart playing.

Another thing I have noticed since almost the beginning is the t t t t t sound the engine makes . I thought perhaps it is because it is the stock pipes but now I wonder with this thread.

Third thing.  I HATE the Jiffy Stand. It looks cheap as hell and always feels really weak. The stand my husband had stock on his Street Bob feels a thousand times sturdier and is way easy to get at. I ordered the HD extension but haven't gotten it yet and I really would rather get a whole new Jiffy Stand that is prettier, sturdier, and better for the vertically challenged (I am 5'5").  Every time I put the bike on the stand I feel sick like the stand won't hold and I hate that feeling. That's even on the flat with the coaster under it.

Any thoughts from all you pros? I have missed you all during my over 4 month hiatus. Wish I could say it was fun but it was awful. Finally did sell the Sportster last weekend and have to share the garage again with my new beetle convertible (2007 in light metallic green with a cream roof and cream leather seats). It had low (31k) miles and is so much fun. :jack: well, a little.....

My first & last CVO, Scarlett, arrived 6-1-12. I always remember my mom while riding.  She had smarts with a spirit of independence & adventure. "You Gotta LIVE!", was her motto; her favorite color red, and she loved BLING.

I agree!!!   Every time I lean it over I look to make sure its all the way extended.  I disassembled it just to make sure it was working properly, I was always thinking the bolt on top was loose!

Sorry don't want to hijack thread

Well, it was over for me today
I just sold my beautiful 12' cvo
Here in France , dealer made me really hate the bike after my story with that noise, plus that they are not that strong over Harley to ask for new engine comparing to you guys in US. They have opened the engine 3 times and never found the problem that cause the noise, and what's made me hate Harley here in france is that every time they contact Harley France to ask for new engine, Harley france asks to open the engine again and search for the cause. The bike has only 8000k. But I don't care anymore, I'm done with this dealer and done with the bike. At least I have my other beautiful 12' ROADKING

So sorry to hear that your only solution was to sell your beautiful SG.   :'(.   Unfortunately, your problem wasn't your MC but the incompetent mechanic's working on it.   :-\

Thanks guys
Nothing to sorry about
It's just sad to had a great bike like that with only 8000 Kms and have these problem, plus more sadly to have Harley France dealing with me like that as if I was asking for something which is not of my right and keeping playing with me games just to save some money by taking part your engine several times while it is under warranty instead of replacing it.

MOCO should be made aware of this, that is not acceptable  :o
Even though you have now sold the SG i would send a letter with any history (copy) of documented from the dealer to the MOCO.
If the MOCO stand by there product you should be compensated at the dealers cost via the MOCO direction.
Unbelievable!!!
