Orange County Choppers - CVO
« on: August 27, 2006, 08:34:13 AM »

[smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]  My wife and I rode from Maryland to Montgomery, New York Friday to attend Orange County Choppers second annual Open House for their retail store.  A whole host of activities was planned, but the highlight was a group ride with Paul Sr., Pauly Jr., Mikey, Vinnie, Rick and several other members of the OCC Team.  We posted in the rain yesterday morning...the ride was supposed to take off @ 9:00am, but was delayed due to the rain.  I actually thought it would be cancelled, stars do not ride in the rain...to all of our surprise at about 9:30am the OCC group rode into the Retail Store parking lot!!!!  Paul Sr was riding a 2004 SE Orange & Black Electra Glide, his gril friend was riding a 2006 SE Fat Boy, Paul Jr was riding a 2006 SE Ultra Classic!!!!!  Says someting about CVOs!!!!!  Paul Sr, did switch to an OCC Chopper for the ride and Mikey rode the SE Electra Glide.  Vinnie was riding a Honda Sport Dirt Bike!!!!!

We rode for two hours on a police escorted ride through the country roads of Orange County, yes in the rain at times!!! The Discovery Channel was there filming the event for a future OCC Show.  We were supposed to stay through today, but with the rain we decided to take advantage of some breaks in the rain and ride home.

I still cannot post pictures to this site, do not know and cannot figure out why!!  If anyone wants to see the pictures we took I will e-mail them to you and you can post them on the site for all to see OCC on CVOs!!!!

On the ride there was my 2006 SE ULtra and one other 2005 SE Yellow Electra Glide.  Thanks OCC for the great time!!!!

We decided to leave early because it was supposed to rain heavily today and we were able to ride home in the clear yesterday.  We did not want to leave, there was still a lot going  :( :(on.

Looks like the OCC boys ride for comfort when it ain't on TV!!!! I wonder if they secretly wear CVO threads under the OCC garb?

Even SR. and JR. know a quality ride, I just wonder who their "stealer" is?

one more thought...did they purchase the extended warranty?  [smiley=oops.gif] did I say that?

That's kind of harsh, don'cha think, Spiderman?  I mean, you gotta give'em their 'dues' since they've created one of the most sucessful motorcycle tv shows of all time.....and whether  by accident or design, they've become celebraties with all that goes along with it.  Maybe the thing that bothers all of us long time scooter junkies is that they commercialized our thing.......we use  to  bemoan the fact that people didn't understand us and our passion for these two-wheeled vehicles and the lifestyle that it entailed and now that someone gets a popular tv show about building scooters and we've gotta find fault with their representation.....I don't know....... jmho.   (damn, I need a beer after typing all that.  har!  [smiley=drink.gif]spyder

SPIDERMAN,

You couldn't have said it any better. I agree that the Jerry Springer effect is the only thing that keeps the show afloat. How many episodes have aired where they are sweating a bike even cranking up, and most bikes have severe problems with parts fitting...fixed with a ball-peen hammer. And this is with their high-profile theme bikes. If I were Paulie X2, I would choose a CVO also.

Cheers

I have e-mailed more pictures to be posted.   Man, some of you guys are HARSH!!!!!  Sure this was Hollywood, but OCC put two wheels on the charts!!!!  There was not one guy or gal riding a chopper on the OCC Ride other than the OCC boys...everyone else was riding Harleys or SOBs (some other brand).  This was a good day & ride.

I did not post it earlier since I only found out about it last week.  My wife and I rode on the 911 Ride to all the crash sites and ended up in Manhattan last Sautrday and was going to ride up to OCC to visit their retail store and checked the web site for Sunday hours and discovered the open house and the OCC Ride.  These guys were cool....it was a great ride!!!
