We will ONLY get NASCAR thru the end of THIS 2006 season.  Then they move to Sirius, where all the good programming is headed!

XM 46 rules - also 49, its called Big Tracks, also a winner. If you get a chance both the Tom Petty and Bob Dylan shows are real good, no commercials on the music channels but others there is like NASCAR and CNN & Fox News, I listen all day to various shows 4-5 days a week, kinda sucks they will be dropping MSNBC, but hey the Oprah channel is coming [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]!! I also like the Jimmy Johnson show and the Dale Jr. show though it makes you wonder how much education Dale Jr. & his crowd completed before getting shot into stardom, dont get me wrong I like Dale Jr. as a driver, but - you'll have to listen to the show I guess. My guilty pleasure would have to be channel 7 - all 70's all the time....I cringe sometimes when I catch myself singing along to some of those songs but it is relaxing ::)

Yeah I can just picture ya, tooling down the highways and byways

Delta Dawn, what's that flower you have on
Could it be a faded rose from days gone by
And did I hear you say he was a-meetin' you here today
To take you to his mansion in the sky-eye

She's forty-one and her daddy still calls 'er "baby"
All the folks 'round Brownsville say she's crazy
'Cause she walks downtown with her suitcase in her hand
Lookin' for a mysterious dark-haired man

In her younger days they called her Delta Dawn
Prettiest woman you ever laid eyes on

Yeah thats one of them, years back I worked in radio and started on country radio which my dad raised me on, and Tanya raised me in other ways back then....but that was then.... ;D

Another of my favorites is Sammy Johns - Chevy Van, cant even buy that one on Napster for some reason. Anything by Stevie Wonder gets the blood pumpin, Rhinestone Cowboy, Neil Diamond, man - when cringe as you are turnin up the volume sheepishly you know its bad!!

I hear commercials for XM programming all the time - one channel promoting something upcoming on another channel.  And on some of the talk shows I hear commercials.  Assume it is since they are an AM radio feed??

Anyway I agree with you - could do without any commercials.  But it is still way, way better than terrestial radio, don't you think?

You gotta remember that the talk shows or the Nascar race or News CNN/Fox are structured with what we called National and Local "Avails or Breaks" these are for the commercials that the Network will run that you will hear also on XM or Sirius then the locals XM or Sirius will fill with local programming "Promos" (these BTW are not considered commercials in the Biz). These shows are setup for automated systems at the local stations that run say a 4 minute break, so the show has no choice but to stop at the predetermined time for the break.

Just finished reading in the paper about the huge losses ( 600 million each ) that Cirius and XM are having right now. Cirius way over paid the talking head Howard Stern and XM way over paid for ML Baseball. The investors are getting very nervous. I have two XM acounts paid up for 3yrs ea. so I hope it survives. Bluesville sta 74 is where I stay all the time. For me, it's the main reason I went with Satellite radio. You can get all the rock and country you want on standard radio, but the blues are hard to come by. But it sure is nice not to have to hunt channels when traveling.

Exactly the reason I have kept my 3 accounts month to month (XM).

There is a lot of speculation over the survival of XM and Sirius.  The car companies that are the largest supplier of customers are aligning with one or the other for the most part.

GM has a huge stake in XM and has made it the primary satellite supplier.  Time will tell, but month to month is most likely not a bad idea.  I went with one year just to make it simple though.

Have a question. I am familiar with XM radios so the activation wasn't a problem. I do have a problem though. My XM radio only plays out of the left two speakers. ( Front left, rear left )The radio ( FM and AM ) plays through all four. I have looked at setup and find Fading but no balance feature. Am I over looking something , or do I have a problem. Appreciate any help.
