TTS Tuners.... need help with warm up...
« on: October 21, 2012, 04:58:13 PM »

I installed the Feuling 574 Cams, S&S Lifters and Pushrods.  Initially tried Feulings TTS map supplied for the Cams, it was terrible.  So I went back to FullSac's map originally for the B pipe and ran a bunch of V-Tunes (with a remote screen on the bars) and got a pretty smooth running tune dialed in.

My issue comes in during initial start up (from stone cold).  Starts fine.... idles up smoothly to 1400 as per the Idle RPM table... throught the next 30 to 40 seconds, the RPMs drop smoothly according to the table. At about 50 seconds, it will start to drop back to 900 to 1000 rpm.. stumble a bit, then flare up and run smooth for a few seconds.. this repeats until completely warm, then runs fine.

I will attach the Warmup Enrichment tables, IAC Steps and Idle RPM Tables.

30 pack of PBRs for the fix?

Thanks,
Mal

Put your IAC table, Idle table and the Warm Up table back to orginal........highlite (select) the whole Warmup Enrichment table and add 15 to 20% then try it in the morning.

Back to original in Steve's (Fullsac) map for the B-Pipe?  or original from the factory map?  (may seem like a dumb question).   If it is the latter (stock) how do I get those values?

Thanks Doc... btw... This is really just an excercise as I am planning on swinging through your shop for a real tune when we head to Key West in Feb.

If your running it in closed loop at idle, my warm up table is way too lean.

I am thoroughly confused... should the values in the Enrichment Table be decreased to make the warmup cycle richer?  The comments for the enrichment table read "When the engine first starts and begins warmup, the value from this table is subtracted from the commanded Lambda based on the temerature of the engine"

So for richer warmup... these numbers should be decreased?   they seem pretty close to zero already.

Advice?

Increasing the numbers makes it richer. If you are running closed loop at idle, do as Doc suggested and set the whole table back to original.

On the TTS tool bar you have SET TO BASELINE, ORGINAL, INCREMENT, DECREMENT, SHOW GRAPH ect. Select the warmup enrichment table, idle table, the iac table (if you chanced them...I took it for granted you did change them since you posted them) and set them back to orginal using the orginal button on the tool bar.
(Highlite the complete table and cick on ORGINAL) Then set the warmup table HIGHER by 15%......download the map and see what she does......if it's better but not all gone add 5% more to the Warmup enrichment table.

Finally got it right!  Had to adjust the main lambda table as it was too lean.   I finally realized that the warmup enrichment is only used for the first 30 seconds of start up... my stumble and subsequent flare was occuring at 45 - 60 seconds after initial start.

I attached my main lambda in case anyone has comments...

Fires instantly now and idles smoothly throughout warm up!

Thanks Steve (s) and Doc... appreciate the help!
