Helmet headset switch
« on: August 28, 2006, 12:55:55 PM »

Well, after twenty five years, I've gone back to a full face helmet. Got a Nolan with a J&M headset. Really love it, but on the dash switch, I thought the three positions were: Speakers only, headset only, and both. Problem is I can only get headset and or speakers, can't get both. Did I read the manual wrong? Very possible with Old Farts disease.

Position 1 (forward) - everything thru headset - IC - CB - audio

Position 2 (middle) puts audio thru external speakers but leaves IC - CB thru headset

Position 3 (down) puts audio & CB thru external speakers but leaves IC thru headset

Intercom (IC) is always thru headset only.

BTW if you route CB thru external speakers be sure to check volume - separate volume for CB thru headset and CB thru external speakers.

Hope that helps.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Just wondering what prompted you to go back?

I choose to wear a helmet and went with the 3/4 when I got back into riding.

Don't forget to turn off the CB if you are using the ptt to talk over the IC! You will broadcast your private conversation (Not that you don't know that) just a word of caution [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Vaz, I didn't know that, but I don't use the CB anyway, don't even have the antenna on. The only person I ride with that has a CB is my Brother in law, and I don't want to talk to him anymore than I have to.  ;D
