Exhaust options
« on: October 25, 2012, 08:29:55 AM »

Despite my desire to keep my 06 SEUC stock, after two months of ownership, I cant take the sound of baby farts coming out of the exhaust any more.

There are three options I like.

On all options I intend to remove the cats and do Fulsac cores on my oem muffs.

Option 1:  Keep my oem pipes since they do not have cats and have them ceramic coated.  That only costs about $150.

Option 2:  S&S Power Tune Duals,  $500-ish, and I love the look.

Option 3:  V&H Dresser duals, I can get a set for about $250, although I dont think they look as good as the S&S setup, they are 1/2 the cost.

What say you?

Do you like power? Swap the oil pan to the 09 and later style and you can run the 09 style of exhaust. The pan is less than a 100.00.
This opens the door to using a stock non cat 09 headpipe and all brands of X Pipes as well. Lots of deals on EBay for complete 09 take off systems
with all the shields ect. The stock non cat 09 headpipe will out perform the True duals with less noise too.

Just tossing out a low buck option that makes more power.

The word is out on the 09 exhaust and they are not as plentiful as they were last year.  The cost of shipping often makes them an even more expensive option.

I can get a 10+ headpipe for next to nothing locally and exchange it for a sportpipe.

I would consider the 09+ system if I planned on doing it during a tire changout, since the wheel needs to come off to drill the tranny pan for the crossover bracket.

Cost is a factor since Im also doing my misses 13 SERK at the same time.

Khrome Werks makes a cross under style header that fits the older style frame. Comes with heat shields. Put it on my 07 cuse2 and very happy with it.
